38 out. Eco fan still spinning slowly with a bed of coals from what I put in before bed last night. Added some more white oak chunks to speed it up. I can always count on that white oak to leave me a bed of coals by morning:yes:

Well we did get the snow. In the yard is about 2-3 inches. Up at the mailbox, there's an easy 4". By the shoreline, it'll be less but not having raised the dock, I'll be down there after daylight to shovel it off!

28 now with a very stiff wind.

Lows in the low 30's, highs in the 50's for the next 3 days, TIME TO BURN!!

Swept the wood stove flue and vacuumed out the ashes this weekend, brought a tote of maple over from the property
made some kindling and filled the wood rack on the porch. We are ready!

Was gone for a few days. When I got home the first thing I did was to get a fire going as it was 56 in the house.

Southern BC has been extremely mild compared to normal this fall. Weve been getting a good frost many mornings around -5c/23f but getting up to 18-21c/64-70f. Ive never seen anything like it and Ive been in the BC Rockies since 98. Ive been burning a bit lately as there is less solar loading on the house these days even with the warm temps. Looks like its all going to change come Sunday when our extended forecast is showing steady temps below freezing.

Woke up to 35 deg. this morning. Some maple and cherry in the stove this morning to keep the furnace at bay. I am off to work but the wife will enjoy it.

19 out this morning. Had the chimney and stove cleaned a couple weeks ago but just got the cat cleaned (hope I did it right) this morning. Will bring some wood up and maybe start it up tonight.
