Cold front moved in this afternoon dropped 5 degrees in half an hour , looks like they'll be few fires going on next 10 days or so. Monday night is a four letter word
It's been a mix of ups and downs in northeast Pennsylvania. I brought in a mix of black birch, ash, maple and some oak. Just out of a rack that is in need of some repairs.
This is the warmer of our 2 outside thermometer s . But it is too close to the house. The other one. A wireless bluetooth one said -11°F. Firekilled white spruce in the stove. Inside temp of 71°F
They lie like a rug ! Friend in Dot Lake said he had -10 F this morning. Course, I would rather have our 11 under than be in Kenny Lake. A friend there got around 16" of snow at his place in the storm 2 days ago. And he's just back up from 2 years in Arizona. But they are very Happy to be home ! He put a turbo on his old Chevy 1 ton , 6 pack. And inso doing had to reroute the exuast pipe. Had to take the front drive shaft off to fit it in . It's almost useless, even with chains on.
well I'm jealous of all yall with snow already. I have a live wallpaper of snow falling in the woods. It even has the sound of the gentle wind or water running in the distance. Fired up the gas furnace this morning to take the chill off, and make sure the bugger still worked! oak and hemlock uglies in the Jotul, just a couple to keep it going at a low burn.
I'll trade your below zero and sun for the constant string of damp cloudy low pressure systems we're getting. They call them cold fronts, I call them damp fronts. 49 cloudy and supposed to rain overnight. Grandson's football tourney is tomorrow. Forecast is cloudy drizzle, windy and 50. That should be nice.Still burning random "stuff" in the boiler.
Nice. Maybe in a couple years I'll be able to get one. Too much stuff to buy to build . My old Arctic Cat will have to do till then.
We had 42.2 this morning with pine providing the heat until mother nature warmed everything up, it's 70 up here.
