I just looked out the window now and I am seeing some snow flakes mixed in with some light rain. Birch and poplar keeping the house warm.

Sheesh, still have windows open here. Rain and occasionally windy this afternoon. Got some lawn cut this morning. Just the parts I have to do with the battery push mower.
One spot was the first time this year.

Yeah it’s not really that cold but the kids foul weather gear is soaked and I’d rather not turn on the dryer.

It was 72 up here just from cooking, I made spaghetti sauce with some pasta for supper but the basement temp was 66 so I started a fire after eating.

Well, no pics but we had snow sticking on the ground today. Had to go for a ride and about15 miles from home, shut off the cruise control as soon as I felt the tires break traction. Drove into about 2" (or so) of slush which caused me to slow down to 45 mph. Almost turned around as we were in a squall at the moment. 10 miles later, all better.

41F and sideways rain here. This is sadly become typical fall weather here. Had a few sleet pellets earlier today too. I will gladly trade you the snow for the rain Rope. This weather and 80 and humid I despise about equally. Pine in the boiler and 72 inside. Extended forecast looks damp and chilly too.

Burning red maple, catalpa, and box elder. 44° out. This is like our 5th fire. Just something to take the chill out of the air. I swept the chimney/ liner a day or 2 before that first fire. Pretty uneventful,

Welp, I finally broke down and started up the OWB for the season last Sunday, the misses said low 50s in the house was to cold... :loco:
Was 75 out a couple days ago but had some snow/rain this morning and in the low 50s for the upcoming forecast.

    KIMG0571.JPG KIMG0572.JPG KIMG0573.JPG

Started up the stove with a mix of pine, willow and burr oak.

Today I got home and the house was getting cold, went out to the OWB and the fire was out and the fan wasn't running, come to find out my fan wiring shorted out and broke. Ripped the old wire out and ran new heavyer wire and she's back up and going.

Unfortunately 59 right now from the shorted fan wire, but that's all fixed and the OWB should be just about warm enough again to start the heating up the house again, T-stat was set to 70 in the house though.
