Not getting out of the 40s today. House was 64F this morning when I left. Will have to see what my wife did during the day. We had a detailed discussion last night whether to have a chunklie fire or not, either overnight or in the morning... but decided against at that time. Won't be surprised though to see ash (either burnt wood or burning ash... :)) in the stove when I get home from work.

We had 30.4 this morning with the basement at 73 and the temp up here at 70. We had a small shoulder season wood fire this morning while having coffee.

+26°F was the overnight low temp here.
    Gorgeous blue sky's this morning.
Threw in some half dry rotted white spruce blowdown this morning when I got up . Will put a couple more in and close it down soon.
No snow yet so Praise GOD for that . Last year at this time I had already plowed twice

Started a fire when I got home today from work. It has been raining off and on since Friday and has been cool and raw out. Son had soccer tonight. It was pretty miserable with the wind and rain. Made a fashion statement with my waterfowling parka and mismatched waterproof camo pants.

What a wonderful feeling coming home to a warm fire.

It’s interesting to watch the different weather we are dealing with. Some are having fires daily by now. Some are close to having their first fire of the season and then there are those like me that are still cranking the AC. We had 89*f. Here today.

Accu is calling for a morning low of 34 for our area, I had a small shoulder season fire after supper with the temp up here at 73. I think that I'll burn some ash tonight before I call it a night.

I threw in some old aspen that has been laying out in the weeds a bit ago. It's a little breezy and around 40°F.
It was very nice to come home to a comfortable house today. !

Right around 50 here this AM. After days and days of complete overcast skies from Ian, I'm ready for at least a peak of it! This gets depressing. Supposed to finally break this afternoon. We piled on the covers and had no fire yesterday or last night.

And we've gone and done it... wife had a chunklie fire yesterday AM, and I made one yesterday evening. Didn't need to keep it going... just enough heat to take the edge off. We've got plenty of chunklies so we're all set for the Fall. It's also nice that I took the time over the past weekend to remove and clean the fan on the stove. Blowing real good now! Still in the 50Fs here, but supposed to be mid-70s tomorrow. The way the last 5 days have been, I'll believe that when I see it!

We had 32.4 this morning, the basement was still 73 and the temp up here was 71. We had a small shoulder season wood fire while having a cup of coffee.

It's 60 in the shade up here (feels warmer) and 80 in the direct sun. By the time we hit the end of January up here, we'll have wished we had more of these days.

52 here, got up to 74 for a bit. Went out after work and bucked up some smaller logs for an hour and worked up a sweat. Temps headed down for the next few days at least. Boiler's lit for good now I think. I'm burning random rejects till it gets colder. 4-6 weeks worth of that stuff at least.

It's 48 now. We are forecasted for a high of 40 today. Yep, it's another one of those days where the temps will be dropping all day as we have already hit the high.

North wind will be kicking up; I'll be at the fish shack!

    Low 30's tonight.

Didn’t have a fire today, but we’re headed down overnight as well for a colder weekend. Might make a fire in the morning if it is what is says it will be!

Changes are here. No plans for fires yet as this house seems to hold/create heat. Screenshot_20221006-200036_WeatherBug.jpg
