60 and rainy here today. No fires yet but have had the ng boiler on a few mornings this past week. I got all the outdoor furniture put away today before the rain started, so soon I will set up my patio wood storage. Chance of patchy frost in the mornings this upcoming week.

I worked all day in passing showers, so I loaded up the stove with oak when I got home. It’s an early start to the season.

Today was about 60* and rain off and on. Sometimes very heavy. Out in it most of day. Didnt seem like 60! Came home from work and started a fire and watched football. Mostly box elder, a little black cherry, odds and ends

All stocked up. We're working on our half cord of shoulder season wood, 66 in, 50 something out, and not going to get into the 60's today.

1.5 under this window, and another 2/3 cord SS wood on the rack

Haven't filled the porch closet yet, and haven't brought in the wood rack next to the stove yet.

Oh that we'd get a big enough storm to warrant using window access!!

The wood is convenient to both doors, but I dont care for it to be at the house like that. Hopefully we can build a retaining wall out back, and store what we need for a year there.

    SS wood this morning again.

54 here now. Working on our second day of Ian remnants so completely overcast skies.

Predicted to last into tomorrow as well. It was 67 inside last night at bed time so instead of lighting a fire, we broke out an electric space heater for our bedroom. I love sweatshirt weather!

55, windy and unsettled. Back at it again with more red cedar scraps.

I broke down and decided to set my indoor wood rack back up by my stove. Mostly silver maple shorts with a couple more sticks of cedar. 2 longer splits of mulberry on the bottom since the shorts didn’t quite make the span in the rack. Getting ready for the long slog.

I like the rack. Looks like repurposed pallet wood. Nice.
We haven't pulled ours out yet, we're only going through an arm load or two a day yet. Another week or two, and the rack comes out, the hall closet will get filled....soon, very soon.

That’s exactly what it is. I scooped up a free used shipping crate last year, busted it apart and made the rack. Underneath it I have a plastic tray to catch any crumbs that fall.

54 out, 68 in. Decided to light up. 2 splits of oak, then a piece of apple topped by more oak. With lows in the mid 40’s, I know the wife will want heat and I don’t want to burn oil.

We had 34 this morning with another load of shoulder season wood going in the Liberty. Accu is calling for a low of 25 tomorrow morning and 27 on Tuesday morning.

42 overnight but another nice day here. Mild and T-shirt weather once again. Nice temps through wed but we'll see if it materializes or not.

Got the chimneys both brushed out and the stove readied for burning. Probably start my first later this week.

No fires yet but it looks like I will need a fire later this week. I did bring some SS wood down into the garage today so I will be ready by Wednesday or Thursday.
