    45/68 lumber cutoffs and basswood.
    Just started first fire of the season. Going to be cloudy, windy, and high in the low 60s so not much chance of warming the house without one.

    47 this morning at my house. No fire yet but but it won't be long. Then again, I drained my pool yesterday which could bring another month of 90+ degree temperatures :hair:

    Looks like they backed off on the forecast as we are still to get back to 80 but not high or mid 80's. If humidity is low that won't be bad but I'd rather have temps in 50's and 60's for daytime.

    Low of 44 this morning will knock a few degrees off the pool but we have 3-5 days that will be pushing 90 for highs

    Just got a new condensing (Bryant) furnace installed. Old one (also Bryant condensing furnace had a plugged HX. This one should outlast us, last one was installed in 89. Being in our 70's it will be a non issue soon.

    "They" were being warranted for plugged secondary heat exchangers there for quite some time. Maybe give them a call to ask?

    Got up to 81 yesterday. Cloudburst of rain right after sunset. Mild (60's) overnight. Rin gonna hit here shortly; 70 now.

    We had 44.5 this morning, with another fire going in the Liberty. We only hit 60 today but that's ok with me.

    40's here. SS fire going again this morning. Everyone loves coming to the kitchen for the coffee and toasty wood stove.
    I burned a load of bark I'd saved for this season. It made a good hot fire! I haven't decided to stock bark yet, but we toss an awful lot when moving seasoned wood up to the house. A rack of that might get included in our SS wood supply.

    My man! I know I’ve said it on here before - I love burning bark. The Doug Fir bark comes off in huge slabs when I split. I pile it up and burn it during shoulder season. It’s free heat. Burns hot and clean too. Here is one of my recent bark piles.

    Hey cool! how do you store that to dry? I'm almost ready to dedicate a small section of the shorts-shed for the larger bark pieces. If that's less shoulder season wood I need to grab, and I have it here anyway.....

    I stack it on top of my normal wood stacks. That way it’s the first to come off the stacks in the fall during shoulder season. I also stockpile a little bit of it on my lower deck in case it rains or snows. I used to just throw the bark away, but I’ve begun to realize that all the bark I accumulate equals out to several days of burning in the stove. That’s several days a year where I’m not paying the gas company.

    Same here, just tossed away, and at that, not in a convenient place. If it extends the SS wood supply, that isn't a bad thing. I got rid of a buncha bark yesterday in the burn barrel, way too much kicking around here. (big city dwellers, no brush pile here).
