I'll keep that in mind. I had intended to keep down to about 2 inches for my stove. A lot of it has been just standing dead in the tree for several years so it is already bone dry. The bark has been gone for a couple of years. I'm afraid that as a new wood burner next fall a lot of the bigger stuff will be keeping me warm instead of being used for cooking.
26 tonight and 16 tomorrow night. ENOUGH!!! I'm getting tired of throwing wood in the stove. Seriously. Enough. Stop. Now.
Supposed to go down to -10c tonite and snow all day today. But starting sunday the temps are to be above 0 till the fall. Elm in the T5 right now.
It is 29º on the back porch. Petroleum burning in the Peerless boiler. I never cleaned the wood boiler last night. All I wanted to do was veg in the chair after work. I'll get to it sooner or later.
34 here this morning. Rained most of the night but has now stopped. Snow pack's taking a hit. In the 40s today. Stove is out.
After a couple days that hinted at spring, we're back to highs in the low 40's and lows in the 20's. Burning Ash and Walnut to keep the chill at bay.
26 out 1" of fresh white #%!w . Grrrrrrrrr. I know we ain't in the clear till end of April but this is getting old !!!!!!!
rained most of the night at 4 am turned to snow loaded with maple and went back to bed. But then all I got on deck is maple and too much ice to get out back to get apple or birch. I thought in December I would have wood 2 to chord left over. then February happened. glad I built wife's sunset with a glass of wine deck to hold 10 cord. that's thinking right there yards know this older and wiser thing ain't so bad
Got some elm in the box Spring has sprung ,back to winter , 23 °F , Now and It's SNOWING , Low tonight 10 °F
It's about 22 out,not much going in the Liberty but tonight I'll fill it with some ironwood that we have inside. I had the plow on the Rhino today, I plowed out the low part around the house, it's getting real muddy so the frost is coming out of the ground.
Finally below 40F tonight, heading for 23F got a mix of pecan, oak, & a few pallet runners (oak 3x3's) on deck.... Looking at 19F tomorrow nite, definitely gonna be oak-since that's all I got to stave off the coooooolllllldddddd!
It is 15ish here at 9PM. I left my chair once since I got out of work at 6PM. That was to clean up the kitchen after dinner. Petroleum still burning in the Peerless.
I still have not cleaned the boiler out. I also need to re seal the exhaust pipe after cleaning. Can you tell I'm losing interest in burning?
