Wow Cash Larue, this seems to be normal in your area. This is still late for that weather. I also remember one yeat heading towards Oceanside, CA for Race Across America. I took a plane to Denver where I met up with part of our team who were driving there. I then was driver of one of the vans. We hit snow not far west of Denver but even more in Utah where they had road crews plowing the snow off the Interstate. A week later we were into some 100+ degree days. Then as we went east we hit more snow on Wolf Creek Pass.
Was cold enough here for frost on the roof this morning, was 2C at 6 am, small fire on to warm up the old shack.
Maybe it will keep snowing until colorado wins the cup again. So you'll have snow for quite sometime.
Didn't bother to check the temp late yesterday evening however around 7PM it had dropped to around 50. It was a damp, raw, and chilly night and it was very cool in the house. Lit a fire and had one going most of the night. Felt good to have a fire going on June 1st. I never say 'last fire' of the season because one never knows with New Hampshire weather (the only month I remember never having a fire in the wood stove is July). We've already had a few days in the high-80s. I'm done with summer and ready for fall.
Folks talk more about the planet warming but for me it seems as if the season for heating a home is growing.
How dare you, sir!! Edmonton is super fast and has wicked endurance. The Avs better be able to keep pace.
It was a cool day here (60) with a nice breeze and plenty of pollen in the air. We still have some wood inside so I might have a fire tonight.
Yes it did! Today was warm and cloudy. Got a torrential downpour for about an hour. But I love the rain.
That's good. We had a dry April and a very wet May with June starting off with cooler temps with more rain but not the heavy downpours we received in May.
I started a fire in the Liberty with some ash that we still had inside from the last time we brought wood in.
You guys are hiking right along ! Cash, I just wouldn't live there !! Nope. Summer is short enough without that !! The maremma's playing on the remains of The Drift 2 nights ago. Actually had a paper and kindling fire in the stove this morning. Trees are fully leaved out now. So cell reception is not good for the next 3 months. Got the roofing on the Arctic Entry so I'm slowly gaining on it.
Dude, my hats off to ya !! I just couldn't wouldn't do it !! Nope . Winter is winter. And winter is fine. But summer ain't supposed to be winter.
The reason we stay warmer than alot of y'all is it doesn't really get dark this time of year. And the sun is in the sky from around 3:15 am till midnight. If it's clear out. It makes for days in the 80s
51 here today. Lots of rain this spring. Still haven't had a day over 70 degrees yet. Only had to mow the yard once so far.
Your trees are more leaved out and greener than mine right now. The Aspens are just starting to leaf out here. You are right, winter lasts a long time here. The summers are beautiful but very short. Cool looking dogs by the way!
Wolf Creek pass is a doozy. I drove WCP in my Mustang a few years ago. It was fun, but once was enough We drove Independence pass in August last summer. If you're ever looking for a thrill, take on Independence pass... There was still a bunch of snow from the previous winter up there. And it was COLD!
