We had a fire in the Lopi on Sunday and yesterday it was in the mid 80's. Storms rolled thru between 8 and midnight and we got 1.66 inches of rain. Only in the 70's today and 'green' is popping out all over.
Burning Douglas fir. I might burn every last stick of dry wood I have by the time this burn season ends.
We went from early spring, cold, dreary, overcast, rainy, to mid summer here with temps at 91 today. I officially shut down the stove Monday, with mixed feelings, but ready for warm weather.
Upper 80's here. Stove was shut down several weeks ago and I've already reloaded the shed for next season. Best wishes to you all! Mike in Okla
39 here. Absolutely beautiful day. Haven't loaded the stove since this morning. I'll wait till 2130 to load for the night.
54 here. Might hit mid 80's. Forecasters are constantly changing. Was supposed to be no rain until Saturday. Yesterday the storms missed us as they stayed north. The day before they came within 4 miles of us. Hoping they keep missing us.
Had quite the T-storm roll through overnight. Knocked the power out but all is well once again. 60 heading for 80.
We need that rain here. Been bone dry with very low humidity and high winds - couple that with the early snow melt and we're in red flag fire danger. Some knucklehead hiker started a fire a few days ago to warm himself in the middle of the woods and let the fire get away from him. Still burning today. Nothing like what they experience on the west coast, but it's too close to home for my liking. In the 30's last night but going into the 80's today with no rain in sight until possibly Sunday. Pretty much in the 30s all day. Fkws in the stove. I'm just a plugging along ! Started putting the insulated metal panels on for end wall siding this afternoon. On the Arctic entry. 2 1/2" thick, iirc it's 24 guage steel skinned inside and out. Foam filled. 42" wide x 10' long sheets. With double tounge and grooves . Should give at least an R14 wall before I blow the stud bays full of dense pack cellulose insulation. Should end up around R30 for the walls
Had two more heavy T-storms roll through yesterday. High winds and hard rain. 48 now heading for the mid 80's. The leaves on some trees are beginning to show up and the lawn is doing fine but not quite ready for cutting.
Leaves really popped out here over the last week. Apple trees are now in blossom. Turtles are laying eggs. Only a few scouts so far on the skeeter population. They usually hatch around the 20th.
It was about 80 earlier but since dropped to a very comfortable 72. I just put my pool up for the season and it’s filling now It’s worth mentioning that last Saturday was the last time the wood stove ran. That’s the shortest amount of time I’ve ever seen between burn season and pool season
