Still burning here but not steady. We should be close to the end and next week is looking good.

It's just a touch over 51, we had some good rains overnight and it's still raining, we'll take it. We'll have a fire tonight with some ash.

Whoops, forgot to post the temp this morning.

23 and the open water near the shoreline was skimmed over with ice once more!

I have burnt a little Hackberry, the last couple of mornings to knock the chill off. Here in Arkansas, it's been raining and feels cold, and the wind is sharp, even though the lows are only about 50 degrees. So, I build a small fire out of fairly small splits and burn it hot with the stove wide open for a little while and then let it go out, so it doesn't get too hot in the afternoon. But this afternoon I am almost of a mind to stoke up what coals are left and add a few more splits.

Many N. Wisconsin lakes are still iced for their walleye opener this Sat.

55f for the high. Fire last night and tonight. One load of oak each night to get the house to 70. Let the coals burn out to keep the house warm until morning.

Almost an inch of rain yesterday, dry today mid-50's and rain picking back up for the rest of the week. Had a fire last night but none tonight. Talking about pushing 90 next week. That will really let the grass take off.

I saw a patch of freezing rain near Manistique this morning when checking the radar.

Dropped to 26 overnight. Looking to get into the low 60's today!

I heard one peeper last evening; he'll be joined by a bunch more today.
