44/68. Throwing a load of Elm and Oak in now. Still brrrr outdoors with the wind and overcast. Sold my zero turn mower yesterday without having a new one. That ought to bring on warm grass growing weather
+30°F ambient temperature Winds calm. Overcast. Fks in the woodstove, closed down . Night before last the final patch of snow and ice skid off the house roof. What a Great thing !!! Work is coming along on the Arctic Entry. Monday is landing and stairs day. !
55 and rainy with a low down to 48 tonight, currently a humid 65 in the house. Time to pull out some real junk for a quick burst of heat. Some punky rock oak tops and tulip poplar. Wife thinks it’s funny that I know this was cut Veteran’s Day 2019.
You friggin’ guys burning wood when it’s 50 something degrees out… pffft! All you’re doing is making me miss having a fire. So I just got things rolling again here. It’s 52 and raining, which is unpleasant enough to warrant having a small evening fire. 2 splits of spruce and one red maple shorty
I thought some might get a kick out of this picture which was taken today, 5/2/2022 in Michigan. A bit north of me, thankfully.
36f currently, and raining. Started a fire with with some pallet cutoffs and then a little ash. Basement was 65 but is now 82
Hit over 70* today. 60* now No fire. Forecast calling for Cooler rainy day later in week. Maybe one last hurrah. (I hope so, time to spend time on deck)
Currently 57 and 100% humidity in Gaithersburg MD. No fire for days now. I think we might have turned the page on the burning season.
It rained pretty good overnight which was needed with just under half an inch coming in tonight. It has been pretty dry so the rain is welcome. I did have a small fire overnight, our temp this morning is 45.9.
Temps in the 40's this morning so a fire was needed, again. I may be close to shutting down burning with talk of 70's and an 80+ in the forecast.
Gray and 54. The house felt chilly so another fire for tonight; just some silver maple shorties. This *might* be the last one of the season but I don’t want to jinx it and find myself shoveling snow on Memorial Day The 10 day forecast looks promising at least.
Currently 30 degrees and snowing. 74 in the house. Burning Heartland pellets in the Harman - and Doug Fir in the Oslo. Life at 9,000 feet, in May. Sleep tight, friends.
