44/76 oak. Put one big split on the coals and opened the draft. Will let the fire go out today. High is predicted @ 70.

32 again this morning. I laugh when thinking about the old saw: Frogs get froze up 6 times. More like 16 this year.

61/66 and it feels warm, humid outdoors. And windy. Stove has been on break since Thur. We will be firing back up Mon/Tues from the looks of the forecast.

House was a little cool this morning but had to leave early, so no fire. Maybe later today. Tomorrow in the 80s. Maybe this spring shoulder season is coming to an end.

Temps were rising overnight and this morning I had the furnace cycle a couple times. Supposed to get into the 70's today so no fire for me.

What was supposed to be a nice weekend has turned out to be windy, cloudy, cold. I guess no rain or snow is what qualifies it as a nice weekend.

No fire today but we do have a bit of wind. Got some rain overnight but it should be nice today thru Tuesday.

Currently 53 rising to 60 later on. No fire but I have the firebox loaded with red maple shorties, paper and kindling for the next burn. I like having it staged in advance, waiting for a match. Looks like by Wednesday morning we’ll start another stretch of low temperatures in the upper 30s which will warrant more burning.

The biggest problem now with burning the stove is getting it too hot in here.
Some geese and swans are flying around.
Usually the fields are partly bare so they can glean the fields.
The mice made out good this winter because the ice layer in the snow completely protected them from Fox and coyote s hunting them. And the depth of the snow.

It snowed all day today and all day yesterday. Nice spring snow. We really need the moisture.

Currently 28 degrees outside and 75 inside. Been burning Ponderosa pine and 5 year seasoned Tree of Heaven throughout the day.

    Currently 34°F ambient.
    Winds calm.
It finally got dark. It's cloudy out. Had a little sprinkle of rain earlier today.
Just built a small fire in the stove.
Small black and white spruce fire kill
And some short chunks. And a split of birch that finally appeared from under the snow and thawed out.
Hope it holds till morning without getting too hot.
Got stings kinda started again building on the Arctic Entry.
Still had about 28" of packed snow on the log trailer and the 2" thick ice layer from December 26th. Many places I can still walk on top of it. It really retards the snow melting.
