The Drift at the front of the property had been going down slightly with the warm weather. During the 2 days of steady wind that was strong enough to blow snow good. The Drift grew by a foot or more.
44 here. Burning more Spruce and Pine when needed. Spent a good amount of time outside today. Felt good as always. Now taking a break.
My wood trailer is still a ways from getting free. One sign of spring. And another!!! (Despite over 3’ of snow in the woods) Burning a mix of birch and poplar.
I know the feeling! Currently+12°F ambient temperature. Winds calm at the homestead. Fkbs in the stove.
Had to start another fire. Good Lord, house temp was down to 75 already. Also someone must have spilled white paint outside. The ground is all white.
30/66. Lots of sunshine; forecasted for 41 but if that sun sticks around, it'll get warmer than that!
Cold and damp out with a mixture of snow and rain, temp. is 34. I think it's going to be like this all day. I started the fire with ash and am now into the red oak with some black locust on deck (I will probably keep the fire low and slow). House is comfy at 70 and I have some indoor projects to do today so all good. I hope everyone has a peaceful Sunday.
Mud covered drifts are melting, he power washed the garage doors, quad, bbq grill and my sliding glass door windows. This will take all year, every inch of the house and anything outside (horse trailer, 5th wheel, boat, pole barn, front yard white slat fence) are covered like the bbq grill. Since does mud fly?
I woke up to 34 and ran a small load of ash in the stove. It’s since risen to 44 and I just reloaded with a couple splits of spruce. Rain is on the way soon and it looks like I’ll only be burning sporadically for the next couple weeks. The season is closing down fast.
