22° out.74° in. Ash and elm in the stove. There's a fresh layer of show on the ground that fell super quickly. 3/4" or so, but it's better to look at than brown grass that was there prior. Oh yeah windy out there. Supposedly we're to get 50+ mph gusts. Pretty much all weekend windy.

I should've filled the gorilla cart full of wood from the shed and brought it up before the snow fell, but that light coat of snow will make my job a little more slippery tomorrow. Oh well.

It is nasty outside right now. Wind that is changing direction, snowing. Ugh! I just loaded about half a load of small splits of mixed hardwood in. Consisting of Maple, Yellow Birch, and one split of Beech.

22/72 here. Birds are singing like it’s spring. Earlier this week we had a yard full of robins. Just put 2 splits of chestnut oak on the coals and cranked the drafts to warm it up inside.

-2/65 The winds have died dramatically which will make the cleanup much better once I get outside.

I haven't looked outside yet to find our what the wind and snow left for me. No need to rush into it, I'll wait for full daylight.

I forgot to mention that the crows have been back for a couple of weeks now.

10F here and still blowing. Lots of drifting, but not more than a couple inches of snow. February now supposed to stay below average temperature. Oak and Locust for the day. I need the cold temperatures so that's good.

28 and supposed to drop to 18 by noon. 71 in, loaded ash and sugar maple earlier. Had wanted to go cut a little wood but it's blowing like the big bad wolf. We'll see what this afternoon looks like.

Ha! The jokes on me! Wind was blowing so hard that I can't look outside! Every side of the house (N, S, E, W) is like this. The snow is collected on the screens.

14 and 70. Winds were howling earlier this morning. Lucky we don’t have much snow on the ground. Sugar getting loaded in basement and ash upstairs.

screenshot.jpg Heading for a high of 42f for the day, maybe. Only 7.5" of snow this season and as much as I hate dealing with it, this is not a good thing. Maybe we can get 20+" next month (biting my tongue).

Snowing on top of the ice from yesterday. Should be good for orthopedic surgeons.

26/64 bringing stove up to temp with pine, BL. Was taking longer than normal to get fire going. Realized I had air closed.. Sunny with wind gusts

Its been a bit sporty here this morning with wind gusts to 50 mph and snow. Temp. is in the low 20's. I have a nice fire going with red oak and apple, and am enjoying coffee. I had thoughts of hiking my hunting grounds today but think it best to go another time.
