That sounds nasty or something like we used to wake up to in deer camp.

Currently 19F here, going down to 8 tonight. Burning steady for the next three days.

Also have to go out and blow the 'dusting' out of the driveway..... we got a tad over 9 inches (Easy Boys! Not those inches). Ever since the blizzard of '78 our forecasts almost always predict far more snow than we actually get. This snowfall yesterday was supposed to be trivial but we got a fair amount. Just got in new shoes for the blower too, looking forward to trying them out as the previous ones (gravel shoes ARMORskids) required all kinds of down pressure to keep the auger and scraper near the surface and all that drag made the machine impossible to turn, even with the track clutches. Hoping the new polymer and much smaller shoes work a bit better.

It’s collegiate baseball season and weather here, so I bid farewell to this thread until next winter. We will still need overnight fires, but it’s looking like 1/3 less wood burned winter. :salute:

I took the day off and checked out a nearby lake for some pike spearing this morning. It’s been cold enough lately to put on over 8” of new ice in the last two weeks or so. It was holding around 13” for a few weeks. I didn’t measure but it is well over 20” now.

Dave. I’ve noticed that too. Cold? Or when we keep eating an extra portion and then walk on the deck? Maybe a combination of both. Ya. That’s the ticket.

You will have to take that up with the Geoengineers/ climate engineer's.
They are the ones who decided what your weather will be.
    Sorry !

    0°F ambient at the homestead.
    Fkbs in the stove.

5 above zero and it looks to be the last of the single digits for the season. Black Locust and beech this morning.

Guilty as charged, here! When I was sick over the New Year holiday weeks, I dropped down to the 2hundred and teens....it was the only benefit of being sick. Since then, I've had a ravenous appetite. :(
