19 degrees here when I got out of bed. The Wood stove was about half full of coals and the living room was 53 degrees.
I had to scoop out an entire bucket of coals so I could put more wood in the stove.
It's going to take a while before I can get the house up to 60 degrees, which is about as warm as I can make it when it is this cold out.

The IS is a beast and great stove. I still have a very special place in my heart for the Quad as it was my first stove and I purchased it used for only $500 so no major investment in it. Still trying to get the hang of the cat and if I did it over, I would have skipped it.

23f this morning heading to 30 or so. Hope everyone on the east coast is staying safe. Going by the news around here sounds like a major kill storm out that way. Guessing everyone is already to the cannibalism stage by now.

-3F last night, up to 22F right now and sunny. Nice day to be out in the snow. We’ve had a foot of snow or so sitting for a few weeks. Might get some more mid week. Keeping the house around 70 night and day with a mix of ash and sugar maple.

Our temp bottomed out at - 23.3, I'm not sure what the wind chill was but these double digit below zero temps can leave when this month ends. Saranac Lake NY at a temp of -24.

I loaded up the wood stove this morning with Sugar Maple and Ironwood, I'll take some ashes out and reload with hopefully the same.

That will wake you up in a hurry, and I thought it was cold here. Judging by that we are in a heatwave.

We've had about twenty days of negative temps during January so the - 23.3 even though it's cold, we've had colder. Across the road on the water is always 10 to 15 degrees colder, that's cold.

10 degrees here dropping close to zero again by morning. I’m definitely getting used to these temperatures because early this afternoon when it was 20 out, I was outside shoveling snow in a T-Shirt for a good hour and didn’t even get cold  Oh yeah, black locust, spruce and apple in the stove tonight :)

18 but supposed to go into single digits. 72 in, burning some ash and cherry this evening. Have a few heavy barkless splits waiting for the fire. Not positive what it is just in the stacks. Ash or maple maybe
