I will periodically have dreams that I have two wood stoves to "feed." Not sure, could be a nightmare.... We have a friend who has a large house, no furnace and two stoves. This brings up an interesting question to you all... How many of you have two stoves in your house?
The hole is about 1 3/4" diameter. Same size as they are on lots of my old sweat shirts and long john shirts. All from the same thing. Loading my trucks with 4' wood. Thank you. I'll try to match the color with some wool thread and get a darning needle.
I've thought about it. May need to. Either that or do baseboard heat with glycol heated on the stove pipe via soft copper coil.
Supposed to cool down some. The weather maker wanna be's are calling for colder than 20 below. Which usually puts it at 40 below here at the house. 2 below last I checked here. White spruce and aspen in the stove.
Yup! Yup! Were at 24º about 12" of snow and sun hasn't peeked it's head yet! Wind blowing about 30mph abd we have all day to go! Pic's later. Yeah, it'll be an interesting day. People were panic buying yesterday Just put in a big split of Oak in Grandma, she's been chugging along all night, about 72º upstairs and 82º down stairs with the stove.
Wind is nasty out there. Loaded up the Wood Gun with Beech and Maple last night about 10. Completely empty at 5:45. Just a few red coals to get the next load of same stuff started. The oil just kicked on because the big buffer tank isn’t up to temp. It will take a couple hours to get everything back up there while heating the house at same time. You hoarders on the East Coast stay safe and warm in that storm. Looks like it could be quite an event.
0 degrees outside 66 inside stirred the coals around and put some smaller split oak and hickory on the stove. The central boiler might have to help out in a bit.
26F .... warmed up a few degrees after 10 pm... House was only down to 74 when I got up and loaded back up with Silver maple.
I grew up with 2 heater stoves and a wood cook stove. Keeping wood on hand was a big job then and as I grew it mostly fell on me to get it done. The funny thing about it is that I enjoyed it and also mostly worked alone.
2 and 70. Red oak burning in IS and just started ash fire in the fireview. Hope everyone out east fairs well with this storm.
24* BLIZZARD conditions. Red oak in the fireview. Not looking forward to clearing this snow once it wraps up.
Our wind just picked up to about 45mph! We have "white" conditions outside know. All good, Not my first time at this Rodeo! If you live on the shore, your bound to get a good one from time to time. I expect the wind to get about 60mph before the day ends. the temp is holding at about 24º and were at every bit of 14" now I'm guessing. We shoveled a path for our Corgi and it's over his back He can't even get to a bush to pee... The timeline for this to stop here is about 1600.
Snowing steadily, stiff breeze, 19 and dropping. Apple, beech and black locust getting the house back up to temperature.
