Didn't have any trouble with the one I bought. Everything fit the way it should have. Only thing was one caster (wheel) wouldn't quite go in as deep as the other three. After looking at how fragile it was.....I gave it some very light taps with a hammer (yup!) and got it seated with no more rocking from corner to corner. But.....I stress again.... very light tapping.

Seinfeld line, in this case I am frustrated after dinking with my new humidifier for entirely too long and wore lower back out bending over to seat the lid. The bucket/reservoir is not square and impossible to get it on properly without the wick falling over. Customer service is out today for staff training.

yooperdave does your wick touch both sides of the reservoir or does it just kinda sit there like mine?

26/72 we ended with around 14" of snow, another inch maybe overnight. Burning some spruce and sycamore for the afternoon then we'll go back to ash. Got the snowblower back at it.

23 right now with 20+ mph winds. Expected to hit low teens tonight.
I'm burning small splits of red oak and can barely keep the house above 60, which is still a comfortable temperature if I can keep the cat on my lap.

The problem is, the VC Aspen is about 1/3 full of coals and I can't really get many logs in.
What should I do, scoop them out into the ash bucket so I can add more wood?

I’ll toss a split or 2 on and open up the air to burn down deep coals. When my wife is stuck at home because of snow, I’m guaranteed to come home to deep coals. If it’s a chit ton of tiny coals I’ll sacrifice some to clean it out some.

Roger that. I'll try that now...
Now that the cat is off my lap and in his cat cozy next to the wood stove.

    Thanks Chud.

Another thing is dragging the coals to the front closer to the air.

I've been doing that, but as I said, I've got a LOT of coals. Thanks.

Right now it’s about 20F here. Burning Maple. But the forecast for later this week is looking pretty cold! Check out Thursday and Friday. 2CA665C9-6BB0-4CA9-AFFE-83D97F03E1A4.png

A mild 34 here heading to 25 by dawn. Just a small 2 split fire going now: apple in the front, and a fat chunk of black locust hiding behind it. That should be enough for the night shift.

Man am I happy for you getting the wood gun fixed Gas. Those temperatures would be a real downer burning oil.

I had that issue, Just keep trying and you will get it seated. then when you refill it, don't take the top off, just the front grill. Try to tape the top on. after a while it will seat right.

I like mine. Cost was good and it does the job. No need to spend more.

Mine goes in fine. I have replaced them without issue. Sorry you are having issues. I bought two of them without having any real problems. Try some packing tape on the seams to hold it together.
