36 dropping to the mid 20s by sunrise. Burning straight apple wood for the night shift. This stuff smells great when you’re outside downwind of it. Only have 3 splits going at the moment because the house shot up to 76 with me being home tending the fire all day :emb:

Heading down to 10°F tonight with 10-20mph winds. Loaded the stove up with a hardwood mix and will keep her going! Tomorrow's high expected to be 10°F going down to -15°F with even more winds, and a windchill of -35°F

The coop lamp will be going on for the girls!

17F here now with the wind still blowing. Today felt quite cold with a 15-20mph W wind. High tomorrow is 15. Forecast is for below normal temps through January, that's good news, the ground is freezing up & the skidding equipment will come out! I may bail outta the shop for a few days & skid logs, this is perfect weather for it! Oak in both the stove & boiler.

As others have said I hope its as easy on you as it can be. The distance makes it hard to help out a brother. Ive seen on the news that the east kootenay (SE BC) has one of the highest rates per capita of covid for the province. So many people I know have it right now. Streets being unplowed due to sickness so skeleton crews with the city during record snow fall, friends with it, I could go on. Hope everyone stays safe.

Warmed up to 10 below maybe a touch warmer.
Winds are out of the East. Some gusts up around 50 knots. So we are still running a wind chill down into the mid 40 to mid 50 below.

East wind is a not good wind for us because it comes straight into our property. There was a drift building by my truck at 10 pm. And it hasn't slacked off yet.
It's being a tough winter so far.
3 y.s. white spruce rounds in the stove .

Well, I've been working 12 hr night shifts, and my youngest son and his girlfriend moved out over the weekend. My wife was shuttling their stuff in my truck all weekend so she wasn't here to burn. We leave the oil furnace off unless we purposely turn it on so hence the 55 temp. Besides that is swimming weather up here.:rofl: :rofl:

Yes but is the ground froze under that snow? We just had a fellow try to work in the woods across the road and got into a real big mess when he stuck all his equipment in the mud. had to bring in some big stuff to get it all out. He is gone now and will wait until either the ground freezes or in summer if it dries.
