12F out and getting up to 26F today. Currently 71F in the house. Put a few splits of silver maple in the VF-100. I will reload with all white oak for today’s furnace chow.
14 degrees here this morning 4inches of snow yesterday ash and poplar in the stove this morning quick heat for the shop JB
73 inside from last night's load. Got a family get together today so no cutting for me. 12F outside. I'm going to clean the boiler out then load some Oak.
18* and house was 60* downstairs when I got up this am. Oil furnace was on. set for 60* Upstairs was comfy. Load of Oak in the woodstove. Temp climbing fast. Sounds like misery on the way tomorrow. Freezing rain in the morning and just rain later.
8* this morning. Yesterday got about 4” of snow with a high of 12*. Supposed to get into the mid 20’s today but it’s bright and sunny. Stove being fed a mix of local hardwoods.
17 out but the wind is blowing strong, feels a lot colder, OWB is still working on last nights red oak
11 with the windchill I wanted to get some cutting in today but I don't think its going to happen with these temps. 70 inside with a giant coal bed going firedog is passed out in front of the stove and I dont want to wake her.
Went out this morning and brought in 3 loads of wood, low 30's, cloudy and windy so said the heck with it and did nothing other than going out for mail this afternoon. Could kick myself as the wind died down, still cloudy, 37f and nice. Should have gotten off my lazy hinny and did something. Locust, ash and mulberry in the stoves diet for the week. In fact, that is most of the wood that I have at the house now. Guess I am spoiled!
Nothing wrong with that now and then. I'm recovering from a bad sinus infection and 99 lbs is now learning just what I was up against so it was another quiet day here.
