Last night was freezing rain, snow and sleet. Didn't go anywhere last night. Snow about to start.

When we got up this morning my son looked out the window and said “fog again, we already had fog”. For years we always went ice fishing g New Year’s Day. This year not so much…lame!

27 here. Temp falling all day. Had very light snow for several hours then stopped. Started up again now a bit stronger but still not heavy snow. Weatherman still confused as to how much we'll get.

It is funny that the radar never showed the snow we were getting but then the snow stopped and that is about the time the radar showed it was snowing. Even the electronics fail when it comes to weather.

We're currently down to 11F... Stiff north wind. White on the ground not even enough to cover the grass. Most of it was sleet pellets.

It was about 12* this morning with snow starting about 9:30am. Weather guessers had us in for 7”-11” but have since backed us down to 4”-7”. We probably have 4”-5” on the ground & the snow is tapering off. Stiff north winds calling for wind chills about -25* tonight with air temps around -12*

Currently it’s 0* outside, 80* in the living room with the front door open for fresh air. Everyone but Mama is comfortable, Osage is keeping things toasty.

I am headed out to shovel some snow & prep the grill for steaks.

21F & dropping here, stiff N wind with a bit of snow still falling. Maybe 2 or 3" of the 5-7" they predicted. It's finally cold enough to use the "backup" stove for a day or two. The boiler's full of some Oak & the indoor stove has some Maple & Ash. It's way too warm in here, but the boiler won't use much wood lol. Indoor is 76. :bug:

-6 F degrees here. 76 in the house. Plowed 14” of snow off the driveway today.

Burning Douglass Fir in the Oslo.

Hope all are well. It’s been a tough week here.

17’. Feels like 6 according to weather app. NW 8 mph. At the hunting cabin. Both wood stoves rolling. Think I may have put too much Osage (hedge) in the one stove. U can smell how hit it’s gotten. I’ve got the air intake lever all the way shut and it’s still going strong. Also red oak in the stoves mostly with the hedge.

Doesn’t look we are getting the 1-2” of snow. I was really hoping we’d get it. I haven’t deer hunted with a light dusting of snow in years.

Getting colder. 18f with 95% humidity and 12mph wind. Feels like 5f. Rained yesterday evening and most of today switching to sleet and freezing rain.

71f in the house and a mix of oak and hickory burning. A bit of red cedar to wake the fire up if I let the coals get low.

15° out. Snowing too. 4-6" they said. I'll deal with it tomorrow, even though it's going to be single digits supposedly.

    Burning ash. 77° inside
