The forecasters are all over the board and keep changing the amounts. I expect that will continue. Accuweather is trying their best to build it up. First it was 6-12" but last evening that had dropped to 2-4". Now they say 6-10". On the other hand NOAA is now saying 3-4". First they were saying heavy sano then changed to snow showers and less than an inch. I wonder how many more times the forecast will change before tomorrow night (that is when it is supposed to hit here).

Good morning hoarders and happy new years eve! -26c/-15f under clear blue skies. I had to use kindling this morning to get my coals going. Im not sure what happened about the only thing I can think of is that the splits of larch/fir I used were a bit on the smaller side. Shes going good now with larch. View is from my living room.

    Some really good comments :D:salute:
    Somewhere around-10°F ambient.
Anyone know if Cash is Ok ???
Hoping he got snow and not fire !

My day was fun playing with different snow shovels . And 1 spade for a tough bit.
    Of course it's snowing .
Blowing about 20 to 30 out of the West.
Which is saddening. Our winter road comes out of the woods due west.
The plow truck didn't get worked on today.
Aspen and birch poles in the stove.

The snowstorm appears it will mostly go south which is fine with me. But now comes the cold which is not so fine with me. I once enjoyed both the cold and snow but not so much any more.

They are predicting 3-6" here later today and tonight. Colder finally with single digit wind chills tomorrow. Headed out to clean the boiler, maybe I can finally burn some good stuff. 33F with a North wind now. Happy New Year!

Yet another foggy drizzly 50 degree day here today (and tomorrow) :headbang: Really it’s too warm to have a fire but I can’t remember the last time we saw the sun here. I’m burning black birch to keep my mind off the dreary situation outside.

Yea buddy, 32F & sideways mist here. Not sure what happened to the snow, but it's not nice! Fired up the backup stove because they promised cold lol. It's almost 80 in here & I'm stuck now, I just put on a big chuck roast for dinner so I gotta keep her running. This is gonna suck if it stays warm lol.

50 something and rainy here. Headed for 60 tomorrow. If we don't get a real winter, I might just be on the 5 year plan. Probably letting the fire go out again today.

15 and falling fast outside, 66 and climbing inside. Burning maple and elm. The snow is absolutely dumping here. Our first legit snow of the season. The forecast keeps changing, but the latest is 8-12” and it seems like we’re on track for that so far.

Mid 30’s and falling. Teens by this afternoon, maybe some winter precipitation. Burning some ash. Good day to sit around and watch the bird feeders and fireplace for sure. Got a fire going next door at daughters house too , ash and smaller oak rounds from a couple years ago.
