-19c/-2f with a load of doug fir and larch. Only an inch or so of snow has fallen in recent days which has been great! I have to dig out a stack today for access to burning wood. Warming up a bit now!
Finally getting to burn a small fire. Loss have been on the 40’s so I have to keep it small. We do have a forecast of 12f coming this weekend so I might get to load it up. Mike in Okla
40 out and 67 in. Just started a fire of ash and honey locust. Rain stopped for a day finally. Made some firewood today with the family.
Was out at the hunting property the last 2 days. Had both wood stoves going. It was cold, wet and raining with wind out of the north. Low to mid 30’s. I’m heading back Saturday mid morning and staying till Monday evening. The low Saturday night going into Sunday will be 4’ F with a north wind Sunday 15-20mph. I’m burning oak with a few Osage orange mixed in. Trying to fill my MO muzzleloader deer tag. Season ends Tuesday. I went into town and bought a portable Mr Buddy Heater for my blind. I’ve never used a heater but this is a good first time to start!
62f I just started a fire after letting it go out yesterday morning. Loaded some of the last of the weird shaped oak that won't stack in stove well. Had to take the damp chill out of the house.
Probably had 3"s if rain in last 36 hours. Tree just fell around corner of me ground so saturated. Had to go out as part of the volunteer Fire Department. To secure the road till DOT arrived
I have a little one. Only used it a few times. Mine not a buddy one like you see but lays own with a burner and uses the bottle as a prop.
It definitely will warm the fuel on the return side of the injectors, way warmer there right near the combustion chamber. If you can get your hands on a 10-20 gallon plastic tank, set it in the bed of the truck & run an intake & return line from one of your saddle tanks to it. Plastic doesn't form near as much condensation as the metal tanks. I put a water drain in the bottom of mine as well. Diesel fuel water remover isn't terribly effective at low temp either. You're battling a real pita. Does the truck still have the factory water trap on it?
32F here with a bit of mist, supposed to be in the 40's tomorrow before the big world stopping 3-6" "snow storm" coming Saturday. Oak Elm & Maple in the boiler.
Woo Hoo , bananas wind and white out here most the day. At one point the sun would shine through the swirling snow like a strobe light. I guess the private ranchettes across the lake are drifted in which mean we are too likely. He was going to get a tank of water in the morning, I guess we'll see if were drifted in. Not a big deal as long as we can get to the bus stop Monday morning
We have some pretty big burns around here. And we have beattle killed Spruce. So, if a guy can find a patch. He has dry firewood for the cutting.
It's a crappy pic of the snogo and sled. I flipped the sled on its side because I get tired of shoveling it out and breaking it loose. Yup, lots of snow ! Thank you. Actually, we don't go thru a Lot of wood , really, from September to now , maybe 3 cord, max. I don't think that is too bad. As we've had a month where it did not rise above 0°F. And have had down to 50 below more than once and several days around 40 below or colder. But, the truth is , for what ever reason. I was not fully prepared for this Winter. They are calling this past week of storms. Icemeggedon 2021. I'm gonna get a coffee cup with that on it.
C Cause I worked a job this past summer and did as much building as I could. And , the loggin co I plan on getting tops from has not been able to get to production. Now there is a concern the snow will be too deep for his buncher and skidder to handle. He's loggin in a big burn. So all the trees are in essence kiln dried
No, it's a Racor water separator filter. I have a 15 gal. Blue plastic drum . That is what I was thinking to do. Drill 2 holes thru the small bung for the pickup and return lines . Use the big bung for refueling. Strap it to the front of the bed.
Last I checked 2 hours ago. -14°F ambient. Winds calm Saw some stars or satellites when I walked the dogs a while ago. Got a bunch of little aspen and birch pole wood in the stove. .
37F/78F ... Walnut and a big o'l chunk of honey locust kept it warm overnight. Will have a few more hours before I have to relight.
