Remember last year? At least here in Southern New England we had a warm December. I remember last year cutting fallen trees with my uncle mid December in a T-Shirt. Then January came and bam! Cold and buried in snow for many, many weeks.

I remember trick or treating in snowsuits. And Snowbanks so high dad had a loader come in to push them back. I’m sticking to my statement winters have been lame lately.

2 out right now, calling for -2 with -12 windchill, I'm guessing we will get colder then that. Going to load the OWB tonight with oak and maple.

23F & dropping into the high teens here they say. Tomorrow is supposed to be the coldest day since last Feb 18th or thereabouts. High of 28 or something like that, ooohhhh we're gonna freeze lol. Got 2-3" of nice fluffy snow so went for a drive to look at Christmas lights. Nice night out! Elm & Oak in the boiler, two extra splits to deal with the frigid weather.

    :D.

Sorry but it felt good to not be the coldest or silver medalist on cold temps for once this winter.
    Currently +7° F ambient.
    A little breeze.
Last night we had 30+ mph sustained with gusts to 70 mph.
    Fkws in the stove.
Got a new toy ( ah, no Dear , I Need this for building the house . Oh OK. ) Today.
    Makita 36 volt = 18 volt ×2 , 12 " Dual Compound Sliding Miter saw and stand .
I bought it 2 months ago but there was a snafu on the shipping and it was returned to the distributor , only to have to be shipped back to the local hardware store that I buy all my tools from.
Same price or better than Amazon or the big box stores in Fairbanks or Anchorage.

A nice crispy 11F at 5am. Dropped to 66f indoors overnight. Decided to put a bit more air to the fire this morning. Warming back up nicely now. Nothing better than coffee, fire and sharing half a PBJ breakfast sandwich with the old pooch! He thinks it's a delicacy.

Do you ice fish the lake? Sounds like real winter temps sneaking in! Are you feeding a real fox? Interesting. Stay warm.

I don't ice fish. But, may reconsider that one!

The fox is a handsome adult (of course) and frequents the deck. We have also had a fisher. I had seen it twice on my morning walks and then once the snow started, I would check for tracks on the deck. Sure enough, there they were. It hasn't been around for about 3 weeks now. I figure that maybe with deer season it found different food sources?

Sounds like good entertainment. I've never seen a fisher in the wild. Maybe take a camera on your outings!

That fisher is pretty wary and doesn't stick around for posing.

If I knew enough about trail cams, i'd be having one of them.

    Trail camera?....... OK
    SD card?....... A what?
Set up and format computer for transferring pics?........... Um, huh? :picard:

At this point of life, avoiding aggravation is a good choice.

I am in complete agreement on the technical issues. I have a 4 camera security sys sitting on my end table/spare woodstove next to my couch. Uninstalled. Almost 6 months old:whistle: I started reading the directions. Once. Nope.

That had to feel like a heat way compared to the temps you have been in!
