367C348D-2EB2-4D79-8C1D-AF0A1AC6D5C7.jpeg 57/49 tomorrow. Thin mulberry splits to season the heater after a long wet summer. About another week of those then full sized splits.

ALMOST TIME HERE IS SE TENNESSEE!! Next weeks lows are going to be in the Low 40's to mid 30's. Reason enough for me to start a fire. Need to get the stove/flue pipe cleaned out this weekend. Got a new US Stove Co. ash vac, looking forward to using it.

I am not sure how much weight I put on anything Weather.com says but I am wanting them to be right this time. Below average temperatures for the southeastern quarter of the Unites States through November. BURN BABY BURN!!

Woke up to first frost of the season which is very late for northern Mass. Well, the neighbors had frost. Across the road is 25' lower in elevation and down the road is 40' lower in elevation. We stayed around 33° and green.
Maple, white birch and red oak kept us at 70° throughout the night while the stove was dampered down.
Sounds like a warming trend over the weekend with more rain, damp air.

I immediately thought of the swivel for the cup holder it would be ashamed to spill any or to worry about it.
My wife's friend has an indoor spa and puts her tropical plants in there for the winter. It faces north but has a ton of windows and they do great in there. Warm and humid.

Just cut down an ash tree that had its roots in the river dead 3 years 47% moisture to about 15' one 20 feet away 12%. The wood must have been wicking the water up from the river. Burning ash and box elder.

The ducks here are looking for high ground. Still a bit of Elm & Maple in the boiler. 54 & rain. Miserable day outside.

I have been burning mostly poplar so far. I have been getting a fire going in the morning and today I added more wood once, just after lunch. I will let the fire die and get it restarted in the morning.

Low 60’s today and low 70,s in the house so no fire. Supposed to be in the 60’s tomorrow so probably the last no fire day of the year.
