49° out. Burning balsam fir and semi punky box elder. I have a feeling that I'll need to open the garage door and have the cool air from the garage come into the stove room. I have all my tropical plants that go outside all summer, in the garage, so the plants will like the extra heat. I'll start bringing those plants in during the next few days. I put some plants in the office, and some in the living room.
Cloudy windy day here with some occasional drizzle. The remnant winds from the Nor'easter. Upper 50's but with a raw feeling to it. Delivered a half cord to a new customer and got a kick out of his wheelbarrow. Never seen one with a cup/can holder before!
Well, I've got a Mandeville, a couple of dwarf Cavendish banana palms, a cat palm, a hibiscus tree, and a jasmine shrub. The hibiscus tree we've have for around 13 years, the jasmine for 9 years, and the palms for a couple years. The Mandeville is new this summer, so hopefully it does ok. I have friends that have one like this that simply bring it inside and put it so it gets good sunshine.
I've had Mandevillas for the last number of years, but haven't tried to keep them over winter yet. Looks pretty simple. How to Over-Winter a Mandevilla Vine - Plant Talk
Sounds interesting, I could go for a little tropical vibe in the house over the winter months. Wonder if I could talk the wife into it??
Into the 40’s now. Started the boiler Sunday. Been feeding it a bunch of junky poplar, broke limbs, and chunky monkey. I have my woodshed stacked on the outside edges; leaving a space in the center that I am throwing in odd ball stuff to burn now, plus recent css product for a mix of green and seasoned. deer season picking up so my cutting will be limited to close to the house.
I love it! I wonder if the cup holder rotates as you raise and lower the wheelbarrow, so your cold one doesn’t spill?
I tilted it down for the second pic. I suppose one could loosen the bolt a bit so it swivels freely. Nothing worse than spilling it!
31 this morning and 42 right now. Rekindled the coals in the wood stove with red and silver maple and now have some beech and standing dead red oak going. Back to splitting after finishing my coffee (and I usually drink my coffee black but was in a Baileys mood this morning).
Upper teens here. Fkws in the stove . Either my phone or the local service. Or FHC was down last night.
