70* currently. Got to mid 70s today, looks like same for thursday. Breaking 80* friday. Long range outlook doesn't seem so woodstove friendly.

It’s about time! It’s been a stifling summer in your neck of the woods!

Yes it has. I’m still mowing the grass weekly. I’m ready to switch to bucking, splitting & stacking weather. I just can’t get motivated when it’s 90 degrees. I’m too dang old.

Still warm enough that the boiler will have to wait. I suspect it will be early November this year.

So much for the Fairbanks folks bragging about how tough their winters are. I was there today. Bare grass that's still Green . Highway was bare from Eilson north.

    Except, I don't want any mud !
Maremma's are Amazing in that they have a self cleaning coat. Or 2 pups will get COVERED in mud. Come in and take a few hours nap. Their coat dries and all the mud falls off. Anytime it's wet out , the vacume pretty much lives plugged in waiting to clean us all the dirt and dust from where they were sleeping and stood up. Seriously, there will be most of a dog outline of dirt. Which turns to dust and gets Everywhere. So the vaccine get Lots of use for such a small house.
When the ground is froze and there is snow on the ground. SHINY CLEAN WHITE DOGS !!!
I'M gonna have to build a barn just for muddy maremmas ! IMG_20211002_195011244.jpg

We've had a warm and sunny spell. Even leaving windows open all night.
Right now (7:30AM) it's 59ºF outside and 69ºF inside with the bathroom and kitchen windows still open.
    No wind. At all.
When I was making breakfast earlier it was still mostly dark.

Another warm morning; 64. Promises to cool down a lot though. It is hard to believe we've not even been close to a frost yet this fall.

I drive a 2500 Ram. It’s got boat loads of power. It’s a friggin tank in the snow too. But the mileage is pretty bad. It doesn’t help that I climb over 3,000 feet in elevation just driving home from work though.
