Mid 80's today so no fire. Cooling off into the 70's for most of the upcoming week and then back into the 80's next Saturday. It was rather warm to be in the woods cutting this morning.
It got to 81 here today & was a bit warmer than I like. Went with a good friend to Jackson for lunch at the airport & then a nice leisure cruise at about 1000' & did some sight seeing. Great afternoon. My shop from the air. Nice restaurant at the airport.
3 or 4 " of snow over night. Breezy. Temp around 27° F , at the house. Fire killed white spruce in the stove
Come on you guys. Start posting some pics of thermometers with all the Mercury in a little ball at the bottom. And snow plows and stuff. Roaring woodstoves and empty wood boxes.
We don’t have any of the that action yet here Cold Trigger Finger … but soon enough I will be looking at something like this! I look forward to the cold when it gets here. Sure beats the hot stuff. One pre dawn February morning at the homestead this past winter at -30f against the outside log wall of our cabin, before getting the stove running hot again after the overnight. It was almost 90f warmer inside prior to re-fire. Good sleeping temp. That’s more like it…same morning. At home morning time to settle in and enjoy some satisfying warmth. Makes all the wood hoarding all the more worth it!
I am so not ready for that yet. 74 out right now, got back from our ride, sitting outside in my sleeveless in the shade.
My winter preps are done except putting away a couple hoses & parking the "summer" trucks. I could use that snow for skidding logs & we haven't even had a frost yet. I have the ac running in the bedroom for crying out loud. Humidity was up again today.
First push of the year. Don't look like it will load. Plowed snow for 4 1/2 hours today. Put around 5 miles on the odometer. 29° F currently FKWS in the stove
Its hard to believe how warm it has been lately on the other side of the pond. Warm here the last few days but not that warm. Stays cool mostly until after noon.
Yep, that's the stuff that breaks equipment & it's like driving on greased snot. Welcome to 90% of our winter. Unless it's like last year & just rains instead.35 & rain ain't good for anything. 70 & drizzle here now, terrible sticky, but we need the rain.
