Was just telling the wife, this is ridiculous 15SEPT at 6am and it’s already 68 degrees. Too darn hot.
49 this morning and was a beautiful day yesterday. Should be nice today then looks to be way too warm or even hot for many days. It's going to be a warm start for hunting season.
Yep, not liking the way this looks at all. We got none of the rain either, drier than a popcorn here.
The updated forecast looks much better now. By next Thursday it looks really good. As for rain, we've had way too much here.
We're still running the A/C at night. It's been upper 70's and really humid even the last 2 weeks. I'm really looking forward to some relief but at this rate I think I'll be into October before I even think of getting the stove going. Normally I'd have my A/C's packed away in the basement, but this year I don't think I can take them out until September closes out. I'm tempted to make an estimate of when I'll start burning. Unless a cold or cool snap sweeps through, I'd have to say October 10 is my guess.
Got down to 32 degrees overnight. Frost on everything this morning. Burning some slightly punky, shoulder season Aspen this morning.
Last year sept 18th was my first fire. I'll have the ac running this year. Looks like 80s until thursday, than 68 for a high and rainy. Next friday looks to be very pleasant. Mid 60s Did get a break in humidity though.
Mostly cloudy humid day. Highs in mid 70's. Still feels like Summer. Nuggets and bark in firepit tonight. BBQ chix on the charcoal.
We will probably have freeze up withinless than a week of that date. Freeze up here is when the daytime high doesn't get above 32°F. Usually by the 2nd week of November we will have our first 40 below. Very common that freeze up comes on October 14. Kids trick or treat costumes have to fit Over snowsuits Currently in the 40s. White spruce in the wood stove.
It appears most folks will be having their first fires a bit later this year. I'm thinking we may have a small one within a week. I don't think we have ever had a year when we did not have a fire in September.
Upper mid 30s this currently. Rained last night. Breezy. I think most if not all the farmers got their barley and other grains harvested. And most got the straw baled. There was still some hay on the ground. But most of it has been baled that I could see. Lots of the hay got marshmelloed this year. Had some cranes and geese come through.
It's been in the low 90s here.... We're supposed to have a cold front come through starting today. The wind has already picked up. It was 76 at 9 this morning and now it's 71. Supposed to have a low of 42 on Monday morning but got back to the mid 80s by mid week. I doubt I'll start the stove up until mid October or later...
Low 90's here. Cold front due Tuesday to drop temps into the 70's but supposed to return to the high 80's again. Mike in Okla
