The one on the truck would stay but would be nice to have an extra one for whatever else. All our diesel backup gens at work have them on them.
Oh, I wish. We went to Watertown. (Yes, roads were nasty, especially on the way home in the dark and blowing snow.)Wife had a couple gift cards left from Christmas and she wanted to use one at Bed, Bath, and Beyond. We had a good time together on Valentine's Day. She needed a day without any kids, and I wasn't arguing.
It went up for a while today and is now at -3. Sun came out strong. Wind some times, and calmed down some times.
The wife has one on our Jeep Grand Cherokee, it has the 4.0L straight six. It turns slow when it's below freezing so we got ours from Farm and fleet. "best" $35.00 we invested and it's been on there since 2004. this is the one we have; http://www.ebay.com/itm/In-Stock-20...d&pid=100005&rk=1&rkt=6&sd=111521679223&rt=nc
You can tell the sun is getting more strength later into winter now, it was melting some ice and snow on the vehicles at 4 deg out today. Loon hit the nail on the head talking about the view through the window while perched beside the stove lol. I will say a 2 stove set up really works out nice when the temps bomb out, you can alternate the coal burns, run them on low long burns and I never had below 74 deg for the last 24 hrs. I love it when the rest of the household tells me its to hot in here when its -6 deg out an wind chill wherever and the oil sucker is off. Almost feels like I'm make'in money and only took 14 years to figure it out.
Seems like one of them would be the way to go. I had to laugh cause talking about block heaters reminded me of back when my uncle was using the dipstick kind in the old farm tractor and just about done that old ford in, Dad told him them things are not safe he said ahh used them for years….I think they made them illegal up north.
Checked the oil today Todd and it was dripping off the stick and not running off. The hairdryer worked great.
Both stoves going so it's 81 in the basement, 71 in the living room and the sleeper is sitting at 68. With the realfeel they have us going down to -38 to -42.
I know it's not as cold as some of you, "God bless" were at 9* now but wind is still kicking A$$, feels like… Who know's….. FKN cold. Even the Corgis won't go out to pee. But Grandma is at 450* and house is 82*…
-8 already according to my digital thermometer, supposed to get to -14 but I suspect we'll get a little cooler than that. The wind is pretty calm so it should be easier than last night.
I'll refrain from posting my temps in respect for you upper mid-west boy's. I thought it was cold here! Burnin mostly Beech though.
Temp in a nose dive… Were at 6* now, brought in the Cherry and Gum. Was burning the Maple all day and it did well, Got the two year old oak in the bull pen warming up!
