24 this morning 70 inside from a load of ash and sugar. 45 and sunny coming so won't load a full load. Rain on the weekend looks like that will halt my plans for cutting.
Not as cold overnight. Air feels good this morning and looks like we are in for another sunny day. Maybe we are finally out of that period where it is cloudy all the time. Good!
Only dropped to 17 overnight. Very nice! Sitting at 20 now with a stiff wind from the south. 30 mph winds all day, they say.
Currently 39 & raining outside / 65 inside. Maple (big leaf) in the stove. Enjoying a cup of coffee and listening to a mix of Sinatra, Martin & Davis Jr. (aka: Rat Pack).
It has been melting good everyday for the last few days now, they were talking this morning that by next weekend we could be down to little to no snow, calling for 45 tomorrow and 40s most next week.
When I took a walk last night the sky was clear and they were calling for a low between 6-9 degrees, the clouds moved in later and the temp only dropped to 17.4 this morning. I ran the pellet stove and the temp up here was 73, after shutting off the pellet stove and doing some shopping, I took out the ashes from the wood stove and started a fire.
With the clear sky last night, I figured we'd be in at least the single digits also. But no. Woke up to clouds. Last night, the moon was so bright, it was casting shadows!
Got a fire going this morning and it didn't take long to get the house up to the mid 70's. Letting the fire go out and will restart in the morning.
40 outside now, just put some ash in the box. It was supposed to be sunny today but was mixed with clouds so the house is not overheated. 72 inside. Mid 30's overnight, 50 and rain tomorrow. March 1st means no more topping off the patio stash.
42* and 70*. Suppose to dip in the 20s overnight. Seems thats the future trend next couple weeks. Rain this weekend SS wood doing the work. Box elder, tree of heaven, some other mystery wood.
37 out, calling for 26 tonight then 45 for tomorrow! Sun was nice today but very windy, 20mph wind. Cut and split 1/2 a truck load of limb wood from the red oak afterwork... (The limb wood I was cutting is 10 to 20in dia)
It's been balmy here. Currently 32 with a nice moon rising. I am burning sugar maple and ash, and trying a new (to me) beer. Cheers and peace to y'all!
I haven't had my skidder out since January. Snow got deep enough to be a problem. If we need to we can hook my back blade & winch on your tractor & skid some logs for the GTG. We could haul & deck a few cord in a day or two of work. Give me a call if we need to do that & I'll plan a day or two off before May.
He called me tonight and we are good to go any time! It does get really wet there once the frost goes out. But if worse comes to worse, we can buck up the wood where it is and I can get it out during the summer.
