-8 right now, they are only calling for -9 but if it's already at -8 I'm guessing it going colder then that. Had about a ft of coals in the OWB tonight. Filled it back up with a a big slab of oak and smaller splits of oak and black cherry.
With the recent cold snap leaving us with temps in the single digits (no Rope, I’m not trying to be funny) I’ve been running my furnace as well as a couple burns per day in my stove. Just loaded up both before bed. Red oak splits for the furnace and a mix of ugly chunks for the stove. Sure is nice to be so cozy inside when it’s so cold outside
14 here, hard & soft Maple & Red Oak on the docket this AM. Warm inside from last nights coals which made for a quick and easy relight.
Oh, by the way, we picked up another 5 inches or so of nice light powder yesterday and overnight. On top of the 16 to 18 inches we got last week, we're starting to get a good snowpack. More coming tomorrow, and every other day this week. Should be some good sledding and skiing out there. New Hampshire's economy will boom with all those coming up to play in the snow.
We joined in the below zero club last night. Egads, it was down to 77 inside this morning. Back to 79 now.
We had - 7.2 this morning, the ashes from the wood stove went outside in a garbage can in the woods and the Liberty is cranking out the heat. The pellet stove did its job overnight, we had 71 up here and the basement much warmer.
Not as cold this morning. It was only -2 which is much better than the -22 we had yesterday. Oil furnace is helping to keep things warm. Looks to be cold this coming week into next weekend. Still burning birch. I must have had a big paper birch I cut up a few years ago.
-23 this morning, and it's a Monday for sure at work, nothing wants to work and everything keeps braking.
