    Why does this seem so dam cold. Last year we had a few nights of -27 or -29!o_O

    I think the wind hits me harder this year. Even the slightest breeze makes it uncomfortable

    Its cold here today. Its only 7 out now, it got to like 12 degrees earlier today for a high. Its supposed to get to a low of 2 tonight.

    I'm burning elm splits and branches. I have not heard the furnace kick in at all since we got home. :campfire:

    I filled an extra tote up with wood and brought it inside. Unless the dogs need to go out, the doors are remaining closed.

    If Alcoa pulls out, it will only get worse. The amount of houses for sale in Massena is nuts, some will never sell, they're already calling it little Detroit.

    I'm so glad we built this place when we did, we sold our place in Massena to the first offer.

    Down at camp right now and on top of this hill and all open for that view, the wind is wicked! Tough to heat this place when it's this cold. Making sure the pellet stove is good for the night. As long as it keeps it 45 in here to help keep the electricity from turning on all the time. o_O

    Stay warm man. Sounds comfy. I heated the basement up to 80 earlier. Now I have that stat off and another turned down so the boiler and tank can get right up to 190. Then I'll chuck it full of Ash splits.

    15 and windy, all red oak + 1 round of ash......tomorrow morning plan, all red oak + one big fat split of white oak for good measure!

    Cold for here, you guys up north gotta be ICED!

    Woke up to a balmy 7F with 25mph winds. :shiver: . Red/white oak in the volcano and some big heats in the pellet stove. 73deg in the living room :fire: It's t-shirt and flip flop temps in the basement

    Very windy here and cold. Smoke swirl around the house was hapnin' last night before I went to bed and was drivin me nuts. Always does. Heavy smoke smell in the basement where it was finding ways to get back in. Nothing right around the stove but still makes me neeeeeeerrrrrrrrvous anywho... :whistle: It finally calmed down around 10:30.

    Been pretty cold here. Had the house up to almost 78 yesterday before finally turning off the DV.
    Turned it back on before bed last night and woke to -12 out and 67 in.
    Warming to 14, so the DV will get turned off mid morning, then back on again before bed with a low of 1 forecast.
    Still in the Oak, and not liking how much we've used.
