28 out, some snow coming in tonight, hoping more on the 1in And not the 3.
69 inside, had some breakfast, now I'm doing some dishes and cleaning the kitchen up some before I go cut some wood and do chores.

    My view for doing dishes.

It warmed up quite a bit today, to 25F. I just reloaded the stove with some Mimosa (new to me for burning this year) and I’m thoroughly impressed. Even with the air choked down its throwing some serious flames and heat. House is at 73 and rising. 063B6973-2374-4ED6-9B3E-65BA6FFBC73B.jpeg

Well, I "offically" went through 1-1/2 cord of wood! My 2 week rack is empty again, time # 3 and the Ugly bin is empty. At least I'm burning more than last year, went through a Whopping whole cord last year... o_O Just reloaded the house and the racks. Supposed to get a Nor-Easter coming up. Let'r come... :p Ain't like I haven't seen several dozen of them before... ;)

The high for today was 33 and we are actually at 35 right now with some snow melting off the roof. It would be darn nice out if the wind wasn't cooking right along.

30f cloudy and windy with a little snow heading in; 72f inside. I am still working through the silver maple stack during this exceptionally mild winter.

Opened up and throwing some heat after being out on the lake all morning.

All closed down. Still nice and hot.

I will open it back up and burn down the coals a bit before adding another three spits.

Snow coming down as predicted. Put a fresh split cord of ash in the woodshed between yesterday and this morning. Fire going in the fireplace.

settling in with nothing to do but relax and watch the snow

NOAA has us heading down to -12 tonight, we'll load up the Liberty with some Ash and some nice rounds of Ironwood for the overnight fire.

Here’s another shot of the Mimosa burning. I never would have thought an invasive ornamental tree from Asia could produce this amount of heat. The colors are entertaining as well. Looks almost otherworldly in there :) The piece in the middle is white spruce but everything else is Mimosa. It’s doing a great job of burning the coals down. If I come across more I’m taking all I can get. 89F64621-8899-4696-BA44-AD79B40019FA.jpeg

We're already at -6 tonight heading to -12 according to NOAA, I loaded the wood stove up with some nice rounds of ironwood on top of some nice coals and shut the air down. I didn't put any Ash in per my above post.

-6 at bedtime tonight. The wind has died down. I’ve loaded the Wood Gun with Cherry and Beech. Hopefully that will get me through 7 hours.

29° out and dumping snow out. It's pretty windy as well. 36 mph winds.

They updated us to 8-11+" of snow by tomorrow night after dark it appears. They won't even try to guess with the lake effect. We'll see what really ends up happening, but I shoveled off 2" from the patio that fell in a short period of time, about 2 hours.

Oh yeah, ash, sugar Maple and a stick of Shagbark hickory in the quadrafire.

30 out right now, still no snow and I'm not sad about that, if we don't get anything I may head out in the morning and poke some holes in the ice...
