I just checked the temp and we're at - 4.5 tonight, I'll be going down to see if the Liberty is ready for some bigger rounds of Ironwood a bit later.
Its a ''balmy'' 33 degree's here in the the PNW where i live right now, frosted pretty heavy last night, and its already frozen out right now at 8 pm. Zero clouds in the sky, 1/2 moon give or take, lots of stars out, so, she'll freeze tonight. Supposed to start back into the rain again, and possibility of snow in the near future, we'll wait and see. Got a good fire going in the stove and its nice and comfortable. "Rebuilt'' my chimney cap today, the vertical straps were either broken, or in pretty bad shape. Replaced them with some steel strapping, and riveted them back in place, only did about 1/2 of them. I think they'll last a lot longer than the flimsy ones i replaced. Now that i know how to do them, the other one's won't take as long to replace.
-2 with a mix of Ash, Maple, and Beech still gasing from last night. Wood Gun just kicked on. Time to go stir things up and put a few big splits of Pine in.
0* and the Sun is shining here today. The load of RO and SB is doing a great job keeping us warm I even turned up the thermostat to 72*. Will be reloading the OWB later today. It is nice to see the Sun even if it is cold.
We had - 10.6 this morning with a load of Sugar Maple and Ironwood providing the heat. Because I ended up waking up in the recliner later last night, I ran the furnace instead of having a fire.
Temp did not drop much overnight here (20) and now 25. Supposed to get 2" snow but looks like it is missing us, which is fine with me.
