35 degrees here this morning. House temp dropped to 60 last night as I did not stoke the fire before going to bed. This morning I scooped all the ash out, cleaned the glass door and stared a new fire. Is it Spring yet?
About 6 this morning and now I am burning chunkies. Most of those are elm with a little bit of paper birch thrown in. They burn good during the day. Snow is coming later today, around 2 they say, with about 3-5 inches locally. Heavier snow will stay to the south. Consider yourself warned Horkn and Thor
Eh. Some might get freaked out over this, but us Firewood hoarders are not worried. I'll post up pics if it's anything to mention.
It was 15° outside overnight. The stove room hasn't dropped below 72°. Burning 2yr seasoned ash and 3yr seasoned honey locust.
Just looked at the radar and the snow is going around us for now. Seems that is typical behavior of storms, either summer or winter. Storms get to the river and split, some to the south and some to the north. I am not complaining
Except for being a little cold tonight, the forecast for here isn't too bad. Same old boring pine and red maple as usual.
Ended up with 7" of white stuff. Almost made it to my morning job when they called and candled. Worked to get the company crap mobile home plus another 45 minutes to get it in the driveway, about 4" at the time. Did a few driveways and took the F250 to complete my two add-on jobs. Got back and to my surprise a neighbor's adult kid did all the driveways including mine. Did some final cleanup and called it a day.
It's windy out, and definitely snowing. It's still looking like 5-7". The temps are going up, 30° now. Honey locust in the stove so there will be good coals in the am.
About 25 degree's where i live in the PNW, this morning, it was damp and foggy , frosty as well. I'm likin this kind of weather. It makes me thankful that i got my wood when i did this past year.
23* out 64* in....its supposed to hit 40* again today. I hope we don't pay for these temps in March This mornings load consists of red maple, walnut nd one split of ash. Apparently 1 year split and stacked is not good enough for some of the ash I have. Some of them sizzle a bit
Good to know it's not just mine I may have to rearrange the way I stack processed wood though to get more air to flow between rows.
We got about 2 inches here. That dry slot moved in last night and shut off the snow earlier than they thought.
6.5" of wet heavy stuff here. This is our now 9 month old pup's first real snow event. He was sure distracted but had a fun time out there.
Mild temps, right around 20, and 5" of fresh snow greeted me this morning. Still snowing; may get another 5".
We got about 7 inches here in Rock County. Our new china powered Ariens handled it with ease but I gotta say it uses more fuel than the old MTD. Bigger motor duh
