20 this morning with large Pine splits in the Wood Gun. We have some snow on the ground as well. Not much, maybe an inch or two. Correction. 2-3 inches now that I’m outside.
We got inches of rain yesterday and it was around 60 degrees. I saw a lot of standing water yesterday when I came back from my folks house. This morning it’s 25, only getting up to around 30 today. I see a lot of ice rinks today.
14* Getting fire going with ash and sugar maple kindling. Hickory and ironwood next. Been saving for these kinda temps. Thanks to info from FHC. Thanks FHC!
Yesterday morning was 60* windy and heavy rain. Back to reality today 25* a light coating of snow burning Sugar Maple and Ash in the OWB. keeping the house at 70*.
18 and 70. Elm burning in the basement stove and hackberry in the upstairs stove. I can foresee some windows being open this afternoon with both stoves running.
Yeah the temp is supposed to hit 40+ here today, so im guessing just a little cooler up there. I have been babying my fire this morning so i dont run us out of the house as i have a ton of coals from last night.
13* and windy overnight here. It dropped to around 60* inside I loaded the stove to early last evening. Its coming back up now though. Oak and red maple has the house up to 64* so far.
12f here just had to refill the wheelbarrow in that short time my hands went numb. Black locust and hickory should warm me up quick. Glad I didn't work today, wanted to css some oak and maple but it needs to warm up.
Looks like we hit our high of 28 today. Gorgeous bright sunny day here. The stove is humming along to the tune of some Red/White Oak shorties keeping the house at 72.
It's cold and Santa had all the base he needed yesterday....just made it home at dusk yesterday wo driving in a ditch (No eggnog involved) 20 inches here this am on the Erie shores...
Looks like home, here! I'm thinking that outdoor shower is a tad bit cold this time of year.....better off waiting until warmer weather now!
Have yet to run naked across my backyard in the snow....woodburner just inside....just for silliness...
23 down to 13 tonight, wasn't a bad day today, first day I went out ice fishing, didn't even get a bite but at least I got out. Good 9+ plus inch's of ice in the bay we went out on, was 2 4 wheelers out on the ice.
We have had unusually low temperatures in the teens for the past day and a half. Poor little VC Aspen stove was stuffed with repeated cycles of pine then oak. The stove is full of coals and we have a tough time keeping the indoor temps above 60.
