A woman I used to work with told me about having to make an appointment at the Dr's. office. Seems the previous week had started out a bit unusual for her. She sat down on the toilet and heard "klinking". Jumped off the pot and looked in, sure enough, there's about 3 or 4 nickels in it.

Next day, same thing....looks in there once more but this time, sees dimes!

Finally, on the next morning visit, she heard it again.... "kilnk, klink, klink..." but louder this time. Looks in after she is finished and sees quarters!!!

Right up to the Dr's office she went as this was the day of her appointment.

She told the Doc about what was happening emphasizing that this isn't normal to happen to a 50 year old woman!

    Doc said.........

"Don't worry....you're only going through your change"

I burn quite a bit a season for everyone here, it’s normal for Alaska. When I saw 6,600 sqf, btu#’s that takes makes sense for 9 cords. I’m 1,866 and think 3-4 is just fine, by end of May start of June, I will have burned 10-12 more at least. I am sitting on 21-23 coming into season.

I think that it shuts down well, I loaded it up with white birch the other day. Temp was 175-178, by the time it was loaded, the bark was choochin, peaked at 195-197, I don’t remember the temp the shutter closed down but pulled the dragon to a idle in a minute or two.

40* this morning. Small load in the stove just to keep the chill away and that will be all I need today. Warming trend until Christmas day. High of 65* Thursday and 39* Friday, ahhh NC winters.

Been snowing off and on all day so it was a good time for a mix of silver maple and beech in the wood stove. Had a good dinner of black bear chili with some brown bread while watching the snow fly and the world pass by.

36 out right now, strong wind, going to 42 tommorow with rain turning to snow then dropping to -3.

OWB is all topped off with I'm not sure, going to have to post a wood Id soon.
