48 degrees earlier this morning! High of 61 expected! Burning some Pine in the Wood Gun for the purpose of hot water for showers. Little to no heat needed.
I'm with you, I'm really hoping not to see an Arctic blast this year. They are predicting warmer temps and less snow here but who really knows. I am trying to get my snowmobiles going so the chances of snow are pretty slim.
We need snow; not much for the past few years for firewood, XC skiing, ice climbs. A foot or less of snow makes the tree harvest much easier. The ghost of climate past, AlGore, is with us. A few inches of snow Monday for the deer hunt, then in the 60's now. P.S. as long as drink preference is on the agenda, what do you drink?
-9* and 70* a little snow coming down in Fairbanks about a foot in 12 hours. Snowflakes the size of ritz crackers.
It was 73° today. Still 58° at 12:45 am. it's been 70° at least all week. Well the weather will last at least until Monday/? Tuesday. Nothing burning except campfire/ fire pit burning. We'll take it.
It is amazing the start on winter in Alaska this year. Super cold and some big snows. Guys with dog sleds have to be happy along with many others. Ice getting thick helps too.
60 here, 58 was the overnight low. Cleaned the stove and cat yesterday and cut a couple small red oaks that were leaning over the road. Leaf cleanup and SS the oak.
48F! Burning nothing at the moment. Warmed the Wood Gun up with some Pine last night before bed and then shut it down. Not complaining. Been getting some things done outside that I normally would not be able to in November.
