I’ve hunkered down for the Texas Blizzard we’re expecting tonight. 32 degrees now. I’ve had a fire since 9am this morning. Wife said she was cold and I threw a big pine knot in the stove and hit a high in the house of 76 degrees. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Marquette, Michigan was blasted with snow this weekend, breaking two snowfall records. The previous record holder of 3.1 inches in 1976 was washed away by a flabbergasting 8.3 inches of snow. Two snowfall records were set at NWS Marquette yesterday! 8.3 inches broke the old record of 3.1 inches set in 1976! Also, this breaks the old record for monthly snowfall for October! New record of 19.2 inches breaks the old record of 18.6 inches set in 1979
Just 44 this morning and I put a piece of pine and a hemlock split on the coals to keep the chill out until the sun comes up. 75 in the stove room on beech coals. We might have our first killing frost tonight if the weather guessers are right and they’re still talking snow Friday, somewhere in New England. Thanks Zeta
Sorry just got to this...anyways I will find the invoice and itemize it for you all later today. From what I can recall the installation price for the labor is going to be $590 which I thought was a fair price for three guys and what I figure will be about 2 hours of labor, as well as considering they are an hour drive from our home.
Well...... what was forecasted to be a low of the upper teens.....turned out to be an overnight low of 3!!!!!
8 degrees here when I got up. Put a mix of elm ash and something else in the stove last night. Not sure what the unknown wood is but it’s really heavy with very tight growth rings. Almost seems like oak but I don’t think it is. Don’t have very much of it and not sure where I got it, but wish I had a couple cords of it. Good stuff
Hampton 2450 insert - Timberline Brown $3206 Cast Iron Faceplate - Timberline Brown $625 Decorative Grill (door) $157 Blower - Currently "Free" with Purchase 25' Flex Liner Kit $580 Installation $590 Total $5158 (The Hampton 2450 insert in basic black is $442 cheaper, and basic black faceplate is $146 cheaper. Without the additional $157 for the decorative grill we could have knocked $745 off the total if we went for the base model without optional door) This is the stove we chose in the Timberland brown with cast iron faceplate. This is a different Regency stove, but this is the decorative gill for the door we chose as an addition.
