It’s a Honda Rancher 420, but I sometimes wish it was a 660. Gets the job done though so no complaints.
Seems like most winters are a bust around here anymore. Just a couple of light snows last year. Year before, first year of tractor/snowblower, was something else so maybe 50/50 on real winters. Like the snow and the moisture, but hate shoveling and driving in it. Looks like we will be connecting the stove again this weekend as Woodstock has not gotten back to us for the repairs.
Winters here have been light in the past 5 years. Local XC skiing and snowmobiling near nil. Great for firewood harvesting and hiking. But go inland +/- 20 miles it's a different world of snow. And, any hunting in season is also fallen off. Local hunters would get their take every year when we first came in the 90's. Now too many deer starve.
30 ish this AM when I got up at 3Out the door around 5 to hustle a couple wheel barrow loads of splits up to the house (I needed some exercise!). 55 splits per load. Big two wheel unit works nice. Hardly tell I had a load on. Felt good to do a little something out in the cold and dark. Couldn't sleep anyway!
Yes, I see 2-4" in western UP.The big snow is forecast for north on the twin cities in MN. Tis okay. We can wait a bit longer.
Just after lunch today we had some snow flurries but nothing stuck. Thunderstorms on Thursday. A roller coaster of a week with weather.
We got some accumulation today but then it started to rain and it was gone. Looking at a high of 41 in the next 7 days. I’m really hoping we get another stretch of at least 50’s
Outside is white once again. 99 lbs is looking at the OWB and sighing out loud! (I haven't started it yet! )
34 out this morning with 6 inch's of fresh snow... That can melt anytime now. 69 in the house with oak and maple in the OWB.
