Forecasters are normal; saying its going to be bad this weekend. However the real forecast does not back up the chatter. Sad, but typical. It certainly would be better if they just went back to forecasting and kept the baloney out...

Our highs this weekend are now forecast to be in the 50's. So what is abnormal about that at this time of year?

Right now I'm in a holding pattern in case Woodstock does want it this fall yet. Only take an hour to get it back in place.

If they do want it how long would you be without the stove ? It can get cold at a drop of a hat this time of year.

Just may see some rain snow mix overnight. Supposed to be windy all night also. Low to mid 30's.

Sad thing is Rich, I don't care. I procrastinated but would be nice if they would give me an answer. Most likely, I will just use it again this year and make sure to get it sent in next spring. If they do want it I will get it to them and just run the furnace.

Geeze, it was not suppose to be cold overnight but this morning it is warmer than it was yesterday. 60 degrees out there. But we could have some falling temps today.

Sitting at 34 right now. Didn't get any wind that I heard overnight; that's good. Can't see any "white" outside; that's better!

We had some wind overnight. Was around 30 mph when I got up to go hunting. Did not go.

I've always said that when it is windy, stay out of the woods. That's when mother nature does her pruning!

Right on! I don't like having to wear all the needed protection... I always think of the time many moons ago when I was driving truck in a side wind. Power pole fell as I was passing. Fortunately no damage as I ran over the top of it but then wondered what might have happened if I'd been walking? Later a tree fell. I just cleared it with the rear of the truck. Guy behind me got a huge scare!

My daughter was asking for fire tonight. The house is chilly, by soft southerner standards, but I’m putting it off until tomorrow night. I need to burn to at least open up some racks. There is a rack of blackgum begging to be an ash pile.

Nothing in the last few weeks. Last few days had to run the AC in the afternoon. It wasn't that hot in house but must of been humid cause it was hot feeling. That or I got use to the cooler temps?

It's already down to 36° outside. It's supposed to drop below freezing tonight.

Elm and ash in the stove.

Currently 60 out. Where is October??? Saturday overnight lows will be in the mid 30s so that'll be a good time to light the stove. I know I'm getting anxious because I already have my stove loaded with wood, newspaper, kindling... all I need is a match. How strange is that? :D
