July 6th and I have a fire in the woodstove. Grand fir. Never saw the sun today, cool, cloudy, but a great day for splitting wood. So, is this my last fire of 2019/2020 or my first fire of 2020/2021?
We had plenty of sun and little rain...well none. Last week it startet a little and got more until today... sun came out in the afternoon Had to lite a wee fire (Aspen) to fight the dampness in the house. An avarage of 82°F, with the rain it got a bit more pleaseant (mid 50's to mid 60's). It was good to have a wee fire goin, missed it sorta. mid may end of may end of june end of june
Hotter than the fringes of He!! here. 90 and very humid. I have been trying to do a little wood work before I am laid up for 6 weeks but only get a bucket full split and stacked before rest time. I don't know if that wood will ever season as much sweat that I dripped on it.
Earlier today i looked at the out door thermometer and it said 90 maybe 92. It was looking like rain might be coming in so went to weather.com. They said it was 81. No rain here just north of us.
We were just under 94 today with my old hometown of Massena breaking a record when they hit 98 today. It was 93 at 11 a.m. when I was there today. With the drought we're in, I saw three new wells being drilled yesterday, one was for a house that will be built and the other two were for older houses out of town up on a hill.
Low to mid 90's today. Low to mid 70's dewpoint too. Nothing like having a fire when its that hot . She had picked up a couple thick sirloins so had to start the charcoal this evening. Framing scraps and nuggets in the pit.
