Sunny but cold at 30. 70-80 in the forecast for the coming weeks. Might be the last go for the stove this spring. Ash burning. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
It was down in the 20's this morning so I got a fire going. Should be warming up after today so this may be my last fire until fall.
Tomorrow night could get rainy and in the upper 40's here. That might be enough to have one more fire tomorrow night. But yes, after that, we should hopefully be in the clear. Then I'll need to move what's left of my patio stack down to the lower stacks. Next week looks warm. Mid 70's for highs. It's already 50° here and the coals from last night's fire are still putting some heat into the house. I'll turn the blower off when it isn't putting any heat out.
Believe it! Actually I don't ever remember a May when we didn't have a fire or more to the point; several fires.
Sheesh I can’t like that. Seems to be the pattern once again, season drags on then the change comes all at once. We’ll go from the stove right to the a/c
44 going down to around 30. We've avoided the hard freeze they predicted so far, but tomorrow is it's last chance. Plants covered, boiler still going probably for a few days yet to be sure. Looks like May will have all four seasons this year.
The boats doghouse is where the inboard motor is. By turning an incandescent light bulb on it the engine bay, it will prevent raw water cooled( lake water, no antifreeze like a car) the heat from the lamp will keep the block from cracking, as well as the water pump, water cooled exhaust manifolds, hear exchanger, etc from getting frozen and broken. Here's the doghouse in a ski nautique. It's fiberglass, then covered with vinyl. Under that cover, the doghouse, hides a 351 cubic inch v8 That's pretty much the same engine as mine. 4 barrel holley carbureted 300+ hp 5.8 liter v8 na narrow 19.5' competition ski boat with dual 3" water cooled exhaust.
Dropped to 22 overnight. I don't see 20's in the overnight lows any longer in any of the extended forecast models.
Yes, the soothing v8 sounds of a competition ski boat. Not my boat, but essentially the same boat as mine. Chazsbetterhalf
I'm hoping no AC at least until mid-July and then hopefully only a few times. No more than maybe 10 days all summer...
