Still there save. was gonna hire a guy down the road but the tree the driveway and steel roof is on hold till i see whats gonna happen with this covid crap? And its about to get nice and heavy soon.
Snowed all day but a couple inches melted at the same time. 7" accumulated, really windy and chilly. Stove kept the place warm with uglies.
Got chilled doing some dirt work in an open cab skid steer in a light rain yesterday. Just got done and was loading as it started to rain harder. Temperature barely made it past 50. Carried some uglies in the house (elm mostly) and lit the stove around 5:00. First fire in several weeks. Probably have a couple more in the next 2-3 days. 24F this morning
35 out 77 inside burning beech and fir this morning. It got clear up to 39 yesterday and the snow kept coming then melting. Wind blew like a banshee and we’re glad for the Fireview. Feels more like March than May! A few places up north got as much as 14” and it’s still spitting off and on this morning. We’re supposed to get close to 50 later today but still 20-25 mph winds.
The temps dipped to just below freezing overnight. Right now, they are just above freezing. Not going to get much warmer today. Fire in the kicker stove this morning.
34 when I got up 49 now Put a big load in yesterday afternoon and will probably still be good all day once I reset the boiler temp lower.
Fire going in stove. It's a bit damp here. Not so cold overnight but a couple more cold ones coming Monday and Tuesday.
Yesterday was a very light snowy day-off and on and mostly in the evening. Overnight low was 26 and starting out with sun this morning. Probably had the last fire in the basement stove this spring and will probably pull the fires on the OWB this week and then move to the cottage.
Yeah, May. And still burning... Didn't have a fire last night, but we did the night before. Tonight, it's fire time. Silver maple and ash, started with elm splitter chaff and junk mail. 49° and dropping. Freeze warning tonight inland a few miles. Supposed to get to 33 here, but I'm not taking a risk and have the trouble light on the timer in the boat's doghouse. Tomorrow night hopefully will be the last indoor fire until Fall.
Mid to low 20's tonight and tomorrow night. After that, I think the mercury will stay on the correct side of freezing.
