Enjoy your snow. I just shoveled out the back end of the truck this morning. Should be good for awhile now.
Spring snow is like being almost pregnant Dave. Not "enjoy"--it's wet, messy, and can't be plowed cause the ground is soft. You can break a plow and gouge the road. You know the B.F. in the U.P. ?
Forecast for yesterday was 2-3" snow. Ended up with 8"+ in the morning. 33f last night and 30f this morning. Ended up with a beautiful day around 46f. Most of the snow is gone already and just mud left. Should help the grass seed I put out on Thursday.
We got snow pretty much all day yesterday. Hard to tell how much as it had a hard time sticking. 30’s all day and overcast. Threw some white oak chunks in the stove in the morning. Plan to do the same today
33 out right now, heading outside to fill the OWB with some oak and maple, calling for 56 tommorow, about time it started warming back up again, still have some snow on the ground from the 9" we got last Sunday.
Our snow from last weekend is almost gone. It stayed above freezing overnight for the first time in 5 days, and headed for the 50s today. We are excited. Hopefully the big snow south of here is melted off soon for those dealing with that.
32 outside, 70 inside with ash in the stove. Headed for 50 today. Trying to get some of the honey do list done Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
It’s been great wood cutting weather lately. Snowing a little this morning but it won’t amount to anything. I see Boston is finally getting some. Last couple weeks I managed to get about 5-6 cord cut and ready to SS. About 90% beech with a little swamp maple and a couple fir in the pile. Nice pile of chips for the garden too. After getting a few beech out of the way I spread out the rock pile. 10 yards of gravel coming Tuesday morning to level things up. This will give me a sunny spot to pile wood. 5 yards of compost coming for the hugelkultur and another new spot also.
30 looks like a cloud free day Suppose to hit mid 40s Just went out to load the boiler with a round of maple and oak and a bunch o chit wood. Scraped 4” of snow off the cold frames on the way in so they get warmed up quick this morning. Lettuce and spinach just coming up the last few days.
35 now, getting ready to go get a ash sugar maple combo going and not have the furnace kick on all day. 50 for a high
An expected high of 60°F today. Hummingbirds have returned and the tulips and daffodils have sprung up. Hoping this weather reaches you all soon!
