I also have to wonder if this virus thing will have a big effect. Think about all the warnings to stay home and all the workers who have been asked or told to stay home and work online. So, fewer fillups at the pump.

Traffic is way down here. I keep getting the eeire feeling there's three feet of snow outside cuz that's pretty much what it usually takes for the street to be this quiet.

Didn't warm up quite as much as forecast and ended up burning red maple all day. A little warmer than we usually maintain but it was rainy and damp miserable all day.
41ºF outside, 74ºF inside upstairs from the stove .

Yesterday afternoon was great and to our amazement, we had some frogs that woke up after the non-winter. This is about as early as I've ever heard them around here. I do remember that short time we lived in Indiana that we heard frogs in February. We were shocked! We also did not stay long in Indiana and came back to MI.

The March peepers often start peeping in February here.
Sometimes even when it is a bit cold and they peep slow. Almost comically slow. Go back to sleep if you can't do it right !!

41F outside. Supposed to rain all day.
Woke up far too early and now've got a pine fire going as the stove got a break yesterday with the sun and all.
Hoping to get back to sleep and the ice cream probably isn't going to help.

It just barely above freezing here and getting ready for what looks like a damp day. that will lead into a "significant snow event" (gotta love that description!) beginning tonight and through tomorrow. :D

39 and raining. Cold for what it has been around here lately. I’ve noticed as the outdoor temps rise I feel colder in the house. Figures. Been burning pine for three days. Put some on the deck about a month ago. Easier to burn it than move it again.

Stove or fire pit? Easy decision since you're needing a fire anyway. :handshake:

Stove. Sometimes I don’t even engage the cat just let it go. One thing I noticed that surprised me is how little smoke it makes. Even at start up it’s running smoke free after a couple minutes.

Not sure what the wife has been feeding the stove. She's such a good girl! Stove is running, and the house is warm. I've been hiding at my camp chasing trout for a few days:coldone: How the world has changed in a week.

Here we have a saying that the frogs have to be froze up six times and it usually holds true. Now I see 3 nights forecast in the 20's for us after tomorrow night. So, another 3 nights and for sure spring will be here. I don't care what the calendars say; it just depends on what the weather is whether or not it is spring.

Had to start another fire as it is just too cool without one. Around here, when it gets down to 70 inside, it is too cool, so, we'll warm it up a bit.

It was supposed to hit 60 but now that has been cancelled.

Woke to 6/7 inches of the white stuff this morning. It comes down wet and heavy this time of year. A lot of tree damage but that's just more firewood right? Leaving for work this morning in the pic. IMG_20200319_064035432.jpg

Heavy and wet here also. About 10" and still falling. Mid-30's outside and Hedge/ Lodgepole mix in the stove.

They are calling for up to 14" here. Had some wet stuff so far but that's all.
