It was 40ºF earlier and 42ºF or so now. Supposed to be a sunny day (not a cloud in the sky right now) and get to 60ºF. No fire. Plus, the price of HHO that was slowly going down and had sunk under the price of firewood tanked Sunday night and the wholesale price slipped about 40¢ down to $1.13. Who knows where that will end up today. At these prices I'll save my wood because they can go right back up again quick. Before the opening bell retail was $1.85 and that was based on $1.53 wholesale prices.
48 now Was 52 at midnight I put a giant round of chitazz punky swamp alder in the boiler yesterday afternoon as the forecast is pretty warm the next couple days. Will likely have to feed it some slab wood just to keep that big round going the next couple days.
56 currently, haven’t had a fire in a couple days. Split some ash and cherry yesterday, gonna try to get more done when I get home this evening Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Amazingly it got to 60 yesterday and our overnight low here was 52. It is amazing that you can go to bed at night without putting wood in the stove then the next morning wake up to a 75 degree house! I love it. But now, rain is on the way. No doubt it will be some time before we see 60 again as it comes and goes in March but the average temperature raises 3 degrees per week in March here so we'll probably see that temperate again before the month is gone.
I barely burned over 1 cord this year... wild year, I usually go 3-4, sometimes more. March the 9th, found a huge garter snake... its 72° in my part of Delmarva today!
We were -15c/5f this morning and 5 inches of snow yesterday. I had to run off to work so didnt have time to reload this morning. I haven't checked in on this thread for awhile but Im sure Ive missed out on some interesting weather you all have been having.
Beautiful out this morning!!! 45 degrees now and supposed to climb up to around 60 today. Yesterday was literally 70 degrees. Such a nice day, I got home at about 5, and sharpened some of my axes on the porch in a T-shirt and shorts.
39 here once again, and once again, no fire. Supposed to be a warm one today also, yesterday was close to 70. That's how weather goes some years, so I'll enjoy it, hoping to get some cutting in over my next 3 days off. The Mrs. has started her seedlings indoors. Looking forward to the heirloom tomatoes that we'll enjoy 4 to 5 months from now.
34 here this morning, and we got to 60 yesterday afternoon for the first time. Might see 50 today but not as sunny. Still 77 inside so no fire until evening.
54* and drizzling outside. 73* in the house with a couple small sticks of Ash in the stove to keep Mr. Damp waiting on the porch...
Hit 72* yesterday and calling for mid 60's today and most of the week. This winter has been anything but, crazy year for sure but puts me ahead for next year.
We are -8c/17.5f right now. Im waiting on the coals from last nights larch fire before I load up with fir or pine. Have a great day!
54 at the moment, but a cold front is coming, and we’re headed for 20’s tonight. I’m sure the stove will be going when I get home. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
They don't get that big that often. I seen about 4 ft of one going into tall grass quite a few years ago.
