The logging trucks are making there annual mad scramble to get as much hauled as they can before road limits are set here also.
50 here today. For the next 10 days the highs in lower 40 but will have a few days that will be colder. Not much sunshine. Mud season is here.
That's just another term for the spring time weight restrictions on roads. As the frost "comes out" (thaws) of the roads, they are very susceptible to damage. Especially from very high gross vehicle weights such as logging trucks.
The highways really start to heave this time of year too. Just driving up a normally smooth hill now sounds like you're driving up an endless flight of stairs!
They had 4 dump trucks hualing in bedding sand at work today as they are guessing by the end of this week the road bans will be on
Forecast 45 yesterday and we hit 50 briefly. Hope it happens again today. Chance of some rain. 32 right now.
42 now, headed for 50 with rain. Praying they’re wrong about the 1/4-1/2 inch. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
62ºF outside, just a tad warmer than forecast by a few degrees and still sunny but it's that no blue sky , thin cloud sunny. AT only 11:30 AM. edit: needless to say, cold stove
57 here and it feels wonderful! No reload this morning. I have the back door open for a little fresh air. At 75 upstairs it’s getting a bit warmer than I prefer. Wish we had this yesterday while we were still in Rockland. It was way too cold and windy yesterday along the coast.
38 along with fog this morning. Up to 42 with high about 45. Good band rain early. Stopped for the moment. Did get to 52 yesterday.
It’s a bit cooler here at the moment; but it’s dry so I’ll take that any day of the week over the really wet weather we’ve been having. Also I’m finally driving home in daylight which is nice. Burning ash and sycamore tonight
I've been sitting here in my home office working. At 4:30 the sun was shining in the window and I was thinking, "as soon as I finish up I'll head out to the woods to work on clearing in the 8 acre future walnut grove." Head down working and all of a sudden I hear thunder and rain smacking the window. Then comes the wind... So much for getting out there this evening... 48* and raining. Small ash splits keeping us at 73* in here. Aunty Em, Aunty Em...
41 and windy. Two separate rain storms moved through overnight but it’s clearing now. Near 50 today but the wind will keep it from feeling that warm. Might need a small fire later but not for awhile. It’s 80 in the stove room on coals.
28 this morning with White Pine in the Wood Gun. A high of 39 is forecasted. We had a LOT of melting going on yesterday with the mild temps and a good amount of rain.
