We are up to 40f now outside and sunny. It feels nice. I am going out soon to organize a few things from spearing season which closes today, then prune an apple tree or two. I have a few others out of my 6 that could use a little trim here and there, but nothing major. Solar gain is doing a nice job with keeping the furnace from having to do much today, plus the turkey in the oven is warming things in there.
Not moving at all on the house- but thanks for asking (seriously). Project stalled due to a lack of any / all outside help of any kind. Last work done was plumbing in the fall, otherwise it is just 'resting. Though I did get a tax assesment that jumped up by $100K.... guess I am going to have to make a phone call on that one. Brian
I've been out working on splitting a bunch of Pin Oak that blew down last spring. Some of it is wet and frozen inside an has the pleasant aroma that Backwoods Savage speaks of. Kinda wanted to come in for a break and break out a bottle of whiskey. I'm in here with a coke in one hand and the other hand on the keyboard. Might add some of that fine oak cured liquid to this coke after all...
Too hot David..too hot. Bodies without dressings are not always pretty. Woops ! Should have said: "MY body without dressings is not pretty". MEA CULPA
We had 2 beautiful days this weekend. Both days were sunny with temps close to 50. I got a fire going both days but did not do any reloads. We may be getting a little cooler this week so reloads will be happening.
Same here, hit the log skidding hard yesterday till the ground got soft. Stacked splits today after church & looking at another tree cutting job. Still 37F & clear. I need more shoulder wood! Ash & Elm in the boiler.
Nice to skid with snow...then mud later in the day same as Amateur in MN. Got 6 12'-15' White Ash logs out before mud came and the saw froze. Dropped the bar into snow. Broke the rule : "never cut into the ground". And : "never rush cuts when in a hurry or tired."
33 ash. Pretty sunrise, but rain coming for the next 3 days. Tried to get rounds out of the field yesterday, but it was too muddy, and only gonna get worse. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
"30.Pine". What is it ? Now for "God's country", doing fine. Would like it it to be either Winter with real snow, or Spring even with some mud. This season has been like almost pregnant weather---snow, ice, rain, warm, cold, repeat. "Thank you, thank you very much". E. Presley, Las Vegas
